LEENA POV
It was precarious and strenuous trek back up north where i once lived. It felt like forever since i had left there to rescue my sister and learned all i now know. I thought briefly to check on my mother, but decided i honestly did not care to know how she fared.
Heartless or not. She had never cared to protect and provide for me or Nina, It was always us for the longest time, Taking care of one another. She was my family and i hers. My mother ceased being a factor when she decided to ignore us and succumb to her grief.
Our group consisting of Cain, me, Xui, Lokkar and Slix were amicable at best, but i could feel the tension between us all simmering just beneath the surface, waiting to erupt.
We all stood outside the facility that i had last seen Nina, where i had inadvertently met Cain. His own face a plethora of emotion. Anger, fear, sorrow
He had spent a large chunk of his youth in this prison but today, today that would all end.
"When we save them we will have to be cautious .Most that live here have been brainwashed"
"brainwashed?" Slix asked bewildered
"He means they've been taught that nothing sinister is happening here. that they are safe and cured" i offered
Lokkar scoffed.
"Typical idiotic humans" He grumbled
Slix only nodded and Xui watched me with affectionate understanding
"We will be conscious of this" Xui stated
We had worked out an infallible plan as we traveled here
Cain, Xui and I would infiltrate
Lokkar and Slix would wait to liberate everyone from behind the wall
Geting in was the first hurdle. Lokkar drew the post guards attention to him as me Xui helped Cain and I over the wall. The same wall I had witness them use to allow their "cured" captives yard time. It wasn't as high as the others around the structure so it made for an easy entrance.
Once over we ran for the yard door. Cain banged on it. An incensed guard appeared. he paled at Xui but was decapitated before he could protest or call for help
I snatched up his radio and we ran stealthy down each corridor Cain directed us to.
Turning a sharp corner we noticed a large hall with people eating and chatting.
"its dinnertime we should strike now and with the chaos of so many it will be hard for them to pinpoint the leaders. They would never willingly hurt their precious subjects" he spat bitterly
Xui nodded and together we stormed into the hall. The guards froze terrified but Xui quickly dispatched them
Nina jumped up among the crowd, surprised
"Leena!"
I hugged her tight as she ran for me. her fellow captives shrieked and screamed at Xui's presence. we wouldn't have long before more guards appeared
I pulled Nina with me as i shouted for the rest to follow or stay
Most ran after us, a few stayed behind sobbing and cowering in fear
We raced through the halls back the way we came. A battalion of guards intercepted us abruptly cutting us off . Cain steered us down a different corridor. I could see the yard door ahead but another swarm of guards appeared blocking our way out
