I was lying in bed wide awake staring at the ceiling. I couldn’t get to sleep knowing I was sleeping under the same roof as One Direction. I heard my bathroom door open, and saw Louis slip in and close the door again quietly.

“Hey.” I whispered into the darkness.

“Hey.” I could hear the worry in his voice.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, assuming that maybe he was scared of the dark… Even though he’s twenty-two.

“Can’t sleep.” He replied, sounding troubled.

“Are you sure that’s it? Nothing on your mind?” I prodded.

“Do you believe in love at first sight?” He asked abruptly. He said it so fast that at first it just sounded like a jumble of words.

“I think I’ll believe in it when it happens to me.” I answered him softly. “Why?” I questioned his motive for asking such a strange question.

“I really, really like you Hadley. I knew I liked you after we started talking, because I’ve never met someone who was so kind and open about things. But when I walked in on Harry snogging you to death, I got really jealous, and all I could think about was winning you over so you wouldn’t fall for him.” He admitted sheepishly.

“Lou, I like you too. There’s no way I would ever fall for Harry. Isn’t he kind of a man slut?” I asked him with a laugh.

“A little bit, yeah. But you really like me?” He asked, sounding so much younger than he is.

“Yes. I Hadley Elizabeth James, like you Louis William Tomlinson. And not because you’re famous. Over the last... What has been… six hours? Yeah. Over the last six hours, I got to see a side of all of you guys that no one else really gets to see. And so now I can say, I like Louis Tomlinson, the person. Not just Louis Tomlinson, member of One Direction.” I stated, a smile spreading across my face in response to his.

“Good.” he said, “Because now I get to do this.”

Louis leaned in, and before I could register what was happening, he was kissing me. I don’t know how long we were like that. They world could have ended around us and I wouldn’t have noticed, or even minded. It was perfect, and I don’t think I had ever been happier. I genuinely liked Louis as a person. I wasn’t lying when I said that. When we finally broke apart, Louis pulled out another one of those questions that took me a second to even understand, let alone answer.

“Do you want to go with me?” he asked so quickly that once again, I had to process it for a moment before I answered.

“Go with you where?” I asked because I’m obviously an idiot.

He laughed. “That’s right, you’re American. I mean, will you be my girlfriend?”

I couldn’t believe my own ears. I had known this beautiful super star for six hours, and he just asked me to be his girlfriend. So I did the only sensible thing and said yes.
