*Note* Both Kuroo and the reader are 23 in this... also this is kinda angst i think...

(Y/n) kept tossing and turning all night. This wasn't anything new for her, but tonight was a little harder than the rest. She hadn't talked to Kuroo in over a week. She was asleep before he got home and she was off at work before he woke up. Then he was gone when she got home from work. And the mornings for (Y/n) were always terrible. She tried to be as quiet as possible, knowing that Kuroo had a tough day at work and she didn't want to wake him up. So, she always made sure that she didn't wake him up.

But at this rate, (Y/n) would be up when he gets home. And knowing Kuroo, he wouldn't be too happy with her staying up this late. (Y/n) sighed, 'Might as well get up since there's no point in trying to sleep.' She got up and headed into the kitchen to get a glass of water. Her mind was racing through a bunch of thoughts, wondering if this relationship with Kuroo is worth it. Was she wasting her life just waiting for him? Every night she would remember when they had first met and everything was new and fun. It was their honeymoon phase and they wanted nothing more than to be with each other.

(Y/n) couldn't help but notice that she couldn't even remember the last time they kissed, or even hug for that matter. Most people would think that they would hang out on weekends, but for the last 3 weekends, Kuroo has had something going on.

(Y/n)'s hand covered her mouth as a sob broke through her mouth. She hadn't even remember when she started crying, but she couldn't stop. Her hands flew to her face, trying to wipe away the tears the second they fell. She knew she had to be quiet or else she would wake her neighbors. The last thing she needed was a noise complaint.

(Y/n) didn't want to break things off with Kuroo. She just wanted to spend time with him. Actually, the thought of not being with Kuroo caused her pain. (Y/n) started to pace around the living room, her mind running through everything that could happen. She even started to wonder if he felt this way. What if... what if he didn't want her anymore? That thought itself made another sob wreck through her body.

She looked over at the clock, seeing it read 2:30am. (Y/n) knew that Kuroo would be home any minute now. She should probably head back to b-

"(Y/n)?" Kuroo's voice rang through the apartment they shared. Her head snapped over to where she heard his voice. The apartment was pitch black but she knew where he was.

"Hi," (Y/n) responded. Tears were still freely flowing down her face and she knew they weren't going to stop. In the dark of their apartment, Kuroo wouldn't have been able to tell she was crying. What gave her away was the little sniffles and they way her could see her silhouette shake lightly.

Kuroo set his bag down and walked over to (Y/n). He brought his hand up to her face and lightly wiped away her tears. "What's wrong? Did something happen at work?"

(Y/n) shook her head and started to back away from him. She knew if they kept talking, the conversation of them would be bound to come up and (Y/n) didn't know if she was ready.

Kuroo was quick to grab her waist and lightly pull her back to him. "Baby, if something's wrong, tell me," One of his hands went up to her hair and petted her hair gently. "You have work in 4 hours, you should be sleeping."

(Y/n) nodded. "I know. I- I just couldn't sleep."

Kuroo pulled her even closer and held her close. "So why are you crying?" He pushed.

(Y/n) managed to get out of his grasp and she started pacing once more. Her attitude started to make Kuroo worry. "Do you still love me?" (Y/n) couldn't stop herself from asking. In her mind, their relationship was going to end tonight.

Kuroo's eyes widened and he took another step towards (Y/n). "Of course I still love you. What's going on?"

"Kuroo," (Y/n) sighed exasperatedly. "This is our first conversation in what feels like weeks! We never have time to talk and we never text or call each other because your job keeps you so busy. And normally the time we spend on the weekends has been taken up because you've been busy these past 3 weekends. I- I miss you so much and I love you so much it hurts. I can't imagine my life without you, but right now... it feels like your not in it," she sobbed. "And I know that you love your job and it means a lot to you, but I need to be around you again. I'm scared I'm gonna lose you."

Kuroo watched as his girlfriend broke down in front of him. He had no idea she felt like this. He felt terrible. He walked over to her again and pull her into a tight hug. "I had no idea. I'm sorry, baby," He brought back his head a little and brought his lips to her in a gentle kiss. He could taste the saltiness of her tears and he tilted his head to deepen their kiss.

(Y/n) moved along with him and she dragged her hands down his back. She pulled away and rested her forehead against his. "I'm sorry and I know I'm asking for a lot, but I just don't want to lose you."

Kuroo laughed. The deep sound filling the apartment. "(Y/n), you don't have to worry. I would never leave you. I'm sorry I made you feel this way." He apologized, slowly starting to guide them to the bedroom. He brushed his lips against her ear. "I bet I can make it up to you."

The next day, they both called into work sick, but they really just took the day to reconnect with each other. (Y/n) smiled and laughed at some stupid joke Kuroo made. She forgot how much she loved him sometimes.
