*2nd person pov*
(I've been wanting to write a whole story devoted to a mafia au because I'm literally in love with the concept... but idk if anyone would wanna read it...)
"(Y/n), can you see them?" Bokuto said through the earpiece you had in your ear.
Shifting slightly, you were finally lined up to have the perfect shot. "Yeah."
"Alright, then whenever you're ready."
Grinning, you pulled the trigger of your rifle sending the bullet flying through the air, landing right in your target's temples.
"Did you do it?" You heard Bokuto ask.
"Of course," You giggled. Quickly packing up the little equipment you had set out you hurried to get out just in case people were already looking for you. "Alright, I'm heading out now." You informed Bokuto. "I'll be home in 20."
Bokuto left the conversation there, seeing no need to say anything else. He made a 180 with his desk chair and tuned into another one of the missions going on right now. Akaashi was out with Yamato working on an advanced mission that would require two people. Guiding them through it for a couple minutes, he was interrupted when he heard you curse.
Turning back around, looked at the camera's around (Y/n). All of them were disabled.
"(Y/n). (Y/n). What's going on?"
You looked down at your leg and glared at the blood running down it. Looking around, you searched for what hit you. Looking back at the mansion where you shot some old dude, you saw some other random guy with a gun. 'How'd he find me?' you though. Bokuto said that from here you should be invisible to them.
Deciding to keep moving was the best thing to do before anyone else found you. Taking out your emergency kit you wrapped up your thigh where you were hit. The bullet hadn't gone all the way through, so there was no way to hide this from Bokuto. You needed a doctor.
You heard footsteps coming up the same stairs you took to get up here and couldn't help but panic. You were trying to ignore the pain in your thigh, but you've never been shot before and you couldn't help but panic.
"I'm alright Bokuto. Just a slight dilemma," You laughed nervously.
"What's that supposed to mean. All the camera's in your location are blacked out. Do you need backup?" Bokuto started to get a little angry. He just wanted a straight answer.
Not wanting to admit you fucked up, you decided to lie again.
"No I don't need backup. I'm fine, I can do this on my own." You snapped. Not to help with your lie, you heard the door to the stairs burst open and gunshots immediately followed.
Bokuto's eyes widened once he heard the gunshots. "Never lie to me again." He ground out. "Don't die, I'll be there in 5."
You didn't even bother to wonder how he was going to break the speed limit and not get pulled over. Pulling out your hand guns, you hid around the corner and your plan was to hide until they found you. You didn't want to fight if not necessary.
Looking down at your leg you could see you were starting to bleed through the bandage. 'Not good,' You thought. Luckily, five minutes had passed and you managed to stay hidden from your invaders, but that didn't stop the assault with their guns. Anytime they thought they knew where you were, they'd fire nonstop.
You peaked out of your hiding spot just as you heard the door burst open again. Bokuto was finally here. You were relieved that he was here, but at the same time, you wanted nothing more than to sink into the wall.
You heard several more shots before Bokuto called out to you. "(Y/n)!" He rounded the room, looking for you. You knew you needed to come out before he thought the worst.
You limped around the corner and you let your arms fall by your sides. "I'm okay." You said, but you kept your head down.
Bokuto took one look at you and his eyes fell to your leg. "What happened?" He rushed over to you and grabbed your arms.
"I got shot," You mumbled and tried to shove him off of you. "I'll be fine. Let's go home." You whispered.
Bokuto sighed and grabbed your bag so you didn't have to hold it. You thought he was about to head out like that but he turned around and picked you up bridal style. "Alright, we're going home."
You buried your head into his shoulder. A tear finally fell past your eye, and many more followed shortly after. "I'm so sorry Bokuto. My thigh hurts so bad. I didn't know what to do." You sobbed.
Bokuto smiled and held you tighter. "You know you could've told me. You need help sometimes. And that's okay." Bokuto laughed to himself. "Your big, strong boyfriend will always come to your rescue." He got down to the car and set you into the backseat.
You moaned in pain and held onto your thigh. Bokuto leaned over your body and placed a gentle kiss on your forehead. "Don't worry, baby. Everything will be alright." He got into the driver's seat and looked back at you. "I'll always have your back." He faced forward. "Now let's get home and get that bullet out of your leg." He joked.
