Traveling with two unmarked omegas has certainly given San and Jongho a hand-full.
Since they can't mark them, the alphas have had to chase off other alphas and betas alike in the past few days they've been traveling. Wooyoung's strawberry and combined with Seonghwa's chocolate has put a giant bullseye on the entire group, especially since San not Jongho can cover their scents to dull them.
But passing through marked territory has been even harder. Luckily, the group has only had to go through about three, and only one head alpha had come in person to ask them why they're on their land. Thankfully, the alpha took the bait of Jongho being Wooyoung's alpha and San bring Seonghwa's, and after a simply explanation to their traveling, the alpha let them go with a simple warning and no further altercation.
But the flare of his nose once he smelled Wooyoung's scent didn't go unnoticed.
Wooyoung's scent has only been getting sweeter, the telltale sign of an approaching heat. The alphas know they have to find a safe place for the omega to have his heat,
Away from the both of them.
As much as they hate to leave them alone without any protection, San nor Jongho can stay once Wooyoung fully enters heat. It'll never pass unless he's knotted.
Once the groups camp as been set up for the night and Wooyoung falls asleep in Seonghwa's lap, Jongho sits in front of them, whispering as to not wake Wooyoung.
"I asked San to go scouting when we set up camp, and he found a empty den not to far from here, about five miles. We'll stay here while Wooyoung is in heat, and once he's done you'll come find us, does that sound okay?"
Seonghwa glances down at the omega in question, and sighs before looking back up. "You promise me you won't come near us? You'll leave us alone and let me help him the best I can?"
San makes his way over to the three and sits beside Jongho, giving Seonghwa a smile. "We promised we'd protect you, didn't we? This is part of the deal. We'll scent this place so it's easy for you to find once he's done, and I'll make a list of landmarks for you to look for when you're coming back."
Seonghwa sighs and rubs Wooyoung's back, whispering as if he doesn't want anyone else other then San and Jongho to know. "I'm scared. I know we were doing fine on our own before, but you both came so quick when you smelled me in heat..what if someone else finds us.."
Jongho reaches over and gently rubs Seonghwa's shoulder, trying his best to comfort the omega. "We just have to hope no one picks up the scent and his heat will pass soon, there's nothing else we can do. I'm sorry."
San studies Jongho, and he can sense the alpha is beyond worried about Seonghwa and Wooyoung. They all know Seonghwa's right, leaving the two of them unprotected is the stupidest thing they could do, but they have no choice. The only thing they can do is hope Wooyoung's heat will pass soon.
The next day, once Wooyoung wakes up, the group decides together that San's plan is the best plan they have. Jongho agreed to stay at camp while San escorts Wooyoung and Seonghwa to the den, and before they leave he gives him a parting message.
"If you need us, just howl and we'll come running. We're in range so we'll be able to hear you-" Jongho's words get cut off when Wooyoung unexpectedly opens his arms for a hug, and the alpha is stunned but complies, pulling him in for a tight squeeze. "You'll be fine, I know you will."
Wooyoung pulls back and gives Jongho a smile, turning back to Seonghwa and grabbing his hand, the two omega's going into the bushes to shift and wait for San.
Once the two are both shifted and their bag is packed with food and everything else they'd need, San shifts as well, and Jongho watches as the three disappear into the trees.
Two hours later, San returns, with a couple of killed rabbits in his mouth. He drops them by Jongho and shifts, pulling on his shorts and sitting by the younger.
They skin the rabbits in silence, the air around them tense as they think about Seonghwa and Wooyoung alone.
"They'll be alright, okay? I can sense you worrying from over here."
Jongho chuckles at San's remark, and stands to throw branches in the fire so they can cook.
"I can't help but worry, We vowed we'd protect them. And I feel like we're breaking that promise."
San sighs and moves closer to Jongho, grabbing his hands and lacing their fingers together. "Me too, but this is just part of the promise. This is the best way we can protect them."
Jongho looks at their joined hands fondly, and leans closer to San so he can scent the older alpha's neck. His smokey scent soon fills his senses, and soon San returns the gesture and their combined scents fill the air around them.
His wolf has to learn to accept San, and Jongho is going to make sure of that. He reaches for San's arm, and as if the other alpha already knows, he firmly grasp his forearm and suddenly, their slammed with a pack link.
Jongho's wolf roars in anger, but he ignores it as he kisses along San's face, making him laugh.
I can hear you in my head now, that's convenient. Jongho grins as he steals a kiss from San.
We'll actually be able to feel each other when we mate, so don't get used to it.
After a few more minutes of the alphas sharing loving gestures, they continue to cook the forgotten meal, and once they're both full, they lie down on their shared furs, huddling close together. San sighs in happiness when he feels Jongho's arm wrap around his middle, and they doze off together, the back of Jongho's mind still clouded with worry for their omega companions.
