Seonghwa couldn't believe this was happening right now. He had thought he'd never have to deal with them again, but here he was, stuck on a horse with one of the Blue Star guards right behind him.

The only reason he wasn't putting up more of a fight was because Wooyoung was somewhere behind him surrounded by the most dangerous pack in this area. And if either of them made one wrong move...

He tried not to think about it.

Instead, he went over story after story in his mind of what he could tell his parents that would spare Wooyoung's life.

The one he was leaning toward was going to be closer to the truth. That Seonghwa had wanted to run a way after the ball and Wooyoung tried to stop him, but then stayed with him in order to keep him company.

The marks were going to be hard to explain though.

If he said that an alpha forced them that may work, but it was going to be hard to hide his love for Wooyoung, especially if his family threatened the omega...

Seonghwa closed his eyes and tried to calm his racing heart.

This truly was his worst fear, and he had no idea how he was going to get out of this.

Just the thought of seeing his parents again didn't sit well with him either. They had such backwards views of the ranks, although they were always willing to overlook it when it came to Seonghwa. But only because he was their flesh and blood.

Then his stomach flipped.

The very idea made his wolf bristle. It didn't want to be with any other wolf. It already had its chosen mate.

Seonghwa bit his lip when tears came to his eyes.

For the first time his wolf showed that it only wanted Wooyoung. The idea of being with an alpha upset it.

"Sir? Are you ok?" The beta behind him asked. There was genuine concern in his voice, but Seonghwa couldn't help but roll his eyes.

He chose not to answer. Distress rolled of the beta to the point where Seonghwa felt a sick satisfaction from it.

Wooyoung? Can you hear me? He asked once more for his check in. They were both terrified their link would be destroyed at some point during the journey.

Yes. The younger's voice was so weak...

Have they hurt you?

Not yet. But I don't like the way they keep looking at me... Wooyoung whimpered. And I can't feel my hands.

Seonghwa couldn't hold back the growl that came to his chest. It made the beta behind him flinch, but thankfully he didn't say anything. I'm going to get you out of this. I promise.

Wooyoung was silent for a long time. Seonghwa could feel his pain through their bond. He was just about to speak when the younger started to. We both know that won't happen. They think I kidnapped you. You won't be able to protect me...

Don't you dare. Seonghwa could feel his anger rising. He gripped the saddle horn in front of him and tried to control his temper. It was a good thing the horses were trained to be around wolves, otherwise the one below him most likely would have bolted.
