I stand over my bed in complete shock.

My girlfriend of three years is cheating on me, and I've just caught her in the act.

I clear my throat and they stop.

"Really, Sophie? In my fucking bed?" I scream and two heads emerge.

Sophie and...

"Shawn," I say, completely hurt.

"Kels," he responds, offering me a smile.

I feel something snap inside me.

I walk out, heading to the kitchen and grabbing a pitcher of ice water.

Returning to the bedroom, I fling the water on top of the two of them.

"Get the hell out of my house and don't show your face around here again!" I yell at them both.

Once they've made their hasty escape, I flop down on the couch, my chest aching.

How could he?

My best fucking friend.

I'm not gonna cry, I tell myself.

I look down at my left hand, to the tattooed ring around my ring finger of his name.

The only finger with a vein that leads to the heart and the only name that could break it.

Finally, I let my tears fall.

It has been two whole weeks since I found out Shawn was sleeping with my girlfriend. I'd been ignoring his calls and deleting his texts.

Now, I just sit here looking at our old pictures and wondering if I'm strong enough to cover my tattoo.

Suddenly there's a knock on the door and I jump up, thinking it's most likely the Chinese food delivery guy.

I grab my wallet and open to the door. Only what I wasn't expecting is Shawn. I slam the door back in his face and return to the couch.

"I have a key!" he yells.

"I have a bat," I reply.

"Please, Kels. I'm not here looking for forgiveness. I just want to talk," he says.

I sigh before opening the door.

"You've got five minutes," I tell him as he steps in and closes the door.

"Kels, you're my best friend! Why are we letting some girl come between us?" he asks. I glare at him.

"Because you betrayed me."

"Kels, you knew she was a hoe, and I know you didn't trust her." I instantly feel tears start to form in my eyes. He still thinks this is about Sophie.

"Yeah, but I trusted you!" I nearly yell.

"I trusted you enough to think you wouldn't do this to me. But I guess that's one of the many things that make me stupid."

"Kels, you're not stupid, I am," he says.

"I just wanted your attention. I just wanted---" he admits.

"What do you mean you wanted my attention? You're my best friend, You had all the attention I could give!"

"I know, I wanted more, I wanted all of your attention, I was selfish." I then hug him.

"Shawn, I love you. If you felt like I wasn't giving you enough attention you should have told me. I would have given you more."

"You don't get it," he sighs and I chuckle slightly.
