"What's wrong?" the six year old wolf asked. I pulled away from him, starting to cry more. 

"Why do the dragons always have to be slayed? I don't want to be slayed!" I cried. For a moment, the boy just stood there before picking up the book I had been reading. 

It was one of those fairy tales in which the good guy kills the poor dragon and is praised like some sort of hero.

"Why are wolves always the bad guys?" he whispered, before sitting next to me.

"I don't think you're a bad guy," I told him, lifting my head. He smiled.

"And I won't let any guys with swords and shields slay you," he said. I grinned.

"I'm Guy."

"And I'm West," he replied. I nodded before he pulled me up to go play.

At that moment, I knew I liked West, but it wasn't until a few hours later did I realise that I loved him.

I walked over to my parents as they stood outside the car, waiting for me.

I was all ready to leave when I heard it.

"Guy! Guy!" West yelled, running up to me.

"I made this for you!" he shouted. I grinned, taking the book he'd stapled together and crudely coloured in.

THE AMAZING DRAGON, it read, with what I could only guess was a drawing of me on the front. With my horns, wings, and tail.

I beamed and he hugged me.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Guy!" he called.

"Yeah."

On the car ride home, I opened the book and started to read.

There once was a beautiful dragon. With hair snow white and long.

He was sad because he felt like he didn't belong.

Then one day a evil prince came.

"I'll slay the dragon!" He did proclaim.

But just when all hope seemed gone, a strong brave wolf came along.

The stop the bad man and save his new friend.

The wolf stood up to the price.

But the wolf too was scared and very unprepared.

And the bravness they felt

They stopped the bad prince together.

I actually felt my heart flutter. But I had one concern: giving him something back.
