Kane's POV

"Hi you must be Kane! It's a pleasure to finally meet you!" The bubbly blonde says and I mentally groan not liking his energy.

It's a Monday morning at seven am and he's all smiles and happy times.

"I'm Gavin I'm the floor leader, founder and the CEO of Newlight and it's an honor to have someone so talented and well sought after working for me." He says still smiling.

He seemed young twenty three max and yet he was the founder of a Billion dollar clothing company and still felt the need to greet all employees with such a chipper tone.

Something about that seemed to annoy me.

"Now if you come this way I'll show you too your office." He says and I nod following him and looking around the halls at the massive and expensive clothing photos that lined the walls. Some from well know designers and some from designers I didn't even know.

"Now please don't tell this to anyone, but the moment I saw your work I had to have you. So your salary is significantly higher then anyone else's. I saw a lot of myself in your work and more over something I used to be before, mass production beat out that creative wonder I had. Back when I created clothes for me because I was too poor to afford anything nice." He says and I look down at my feet.

"Thank you. But I'm no better then anyone else." I say and he frowns.

"Not true. You've designed for hundreds and thousands of A list celebrities. Was awarded for most red carpeted appearances this year and last. You're far far more amazing then a lot of people twice your age." He says and I sigh.

"I never wanted to be a designer." I tell him and he turns back to me.

"What but you're so amazing." He says and I smile.

"I've actually never told anyone this story but, I've always been really wealthy, my parents were millionaires and I've always had everything I wanted." I start and he stops to look at me.

"Then one day I got stranded and threw a whiny rich kid fit about taking the subway. But there was a little boy, wearing a jacket that I fell in love with instantly, the jacket I mean, it was so beautiful. Every fabric every stitch, I loved it and I wanted it. I spent three years searching for it. And could never find it and came to the conclusion it was something custom. So I set out to recreate it. At first I tried paying to have it made but it was never right. I could never explain in the right wording what I saw. So I learned how to make jackets. I made so many versions and none of them was like it. But I realized I liked making clothes and I thought that if I got good enough I'd finally be able to meet the designer but I never did and the idea faded that I ever would. So I stopped and fell in love with my own work." I tell him and he smiles.

I only then realize that we were standing outside the office door and he offers me a smile.

"Well I wish I could thank that designer, he helped bring out the most amazing designer in the world." He says and I blush slightly.

I had been told this countless time but it was something about that soft smile and conviction that made me feel like he actually felt that way.

"Now this is your office." He says pointing to the door.

"You don't have to come in if you don't want to. A lot of our designers work best at home. But you'll have to come in maybe once a month during deadlines. All your work will be one hundred percent yours and i personally can't wait to work with you." He says and I nod before walking into the massive office and looking around.

Why was I here.

I could have continued to work as I did. I was making more money then I could spend and that wasn't even counting the money I got from my parents when my dad died.
