"Hi." His face was cheery. Excited even and I quickly gesture to my lanyard the with the little card that reads.

Hi my names Ryan and I'm deaf. How may I help you?

He reads it and seems a bit shocked before smiling again.

"Can you read lips?" He asks and I nod.

"I'm Harvey." He says speaking a bit slower.

"I only pull the little notebook out of my back pocket before pointing to the first page.

What can I do for you? It reads and I nod before smiling.

"Do you know where I can find coffee?" He says and I smile before taking him to the isle.

I can't help but look back at him. One to make sure he was behind me and two because he was really cute.

He was tall and handsome his long black hair in a pony tail a few stray whisps framing his face. He wore a cardigan and looked like a cute teacher.

We arrive at the coffee isle and I almost didn't want to leave him.

I wanted to talk even if we didn't actually talk. So I just awkwardly stood there playing with my lanyard in hopes he needed more help.

Suddenly he turns to me before smiling.

"I'm an idiot." He says and I panic.

I quickly jot down a simple.

"Well the coffee that I want isn't here. It's at a coffee shop on 24th street." He says and I'm not to sure how to answer.

"I have an idea, I'll meet you there, you show me the coffee they gave there and in exchange I'll buy you a cup." He says and I panic.

I quickly write down.

I'm sorry I only work here. Before showing it to him and he looks slightly confused.

"Oh." He says and I feel my heart race a bit more.

"Then I guess I'll be going." He says and I smile.

I wish I could talk to him more.

I think before going to back work and hoping he needs anything else.

Suddenly like a brick it hits me and I nearly rush over to him.

I catch him the moment he's about to leave the store grabbing his arm and he looks down at me before turning red as I pull out the little book.

I write down before scarily showing him and hoping I'm not wrong.

He only smiles before nodding.

"Yeah, you kinda hurt my feelings just then." He says and I nod before writing again.

I show him and he reads it before smiling.

I'm free on Friday, we can meet at the coffee shop on 24th.

"I'll see you there." He says and I smile.
