Yoongi had been in his apartment for a total of three days before Noah decided to pay him a visit. Yoongi had known Noah for several years now; being the younger sister of his best friend, Hoseok, Yoongi couldn't avoid getting to know her, even if he tried. Noah had this type of energy to her that made you like her, even if she could be a bit of a brat some days. Nonetheless, he enjoyed her visits. They were sporadic, and always brought a smile to his face.
The front door to his place swung open and the brunette waltzed inside with a brown paper bag in one hand and a gift in the other. "Congratulations!" she shouted, kicking the door shut behind her. To Yoongi's delight, the snow had begun to melt a little. Unfortunately, the snow was replaced with rain, and with the weather cooling down significantly, the rain would turn to ice. Yoongi did not do well with ice however, she didn't seem to be affected by the cold. She was decked out in one of Namjoon's old sweaters and a pair of jeans with too many patches for Yoongi to willingly count them. Holly yipped at her from his spot on the couch. Noah gasped. "Don't you use that tone with me," she said, looking at the puppy.
"Don't scold my puppy," Yoongi grumbled from his spot on the floor. He was surrounded by a variety of different sized pieces of wood and an instruction sheet. Oh how he loved Ikea. Noah set her paper bag down on the counter along with her gift. She made a face at him.
"Yoongi, sweetheart, what on earth are you doing?" she asked. She crossed her arms over her chest.
"I thought it was obvious," he replied, giving her a look that said, 'seriously?'. Yoongi hated building furniture, it was an absolute nightmare, but considering his apartment had no shelving whatsoever, he decided to invest in some. He bought three shelving units, all of various sizes. There was one for his bedroom, one for his soon to be home studio, and one for the living room, which he planned on putting near the back wall behind the couch. "What are you doing?" he asked, not looking up from his instruction sheet.
"Am I not allowed to visit one of my favourite humans?" she questioned, watching as Yoongi picked up a screwdriver and a piece of wood. "I got you a gift," she added, grabbing the slender black gift bag off the counter. She dangled it in his face.
Yoongi briefly lifted his head so he could look at the bag. "You did?" he raised an eyebrow.
"Yes I did, it's a 'congrats for finally moving out of your parents house and into your own place' gift. Now hurry up and open it, your shelf can wait,"
"He knew better than to argue with her, so he pushed his task aside and got to his feet. He took the bag from her and set it on top of the counter so that he could open it. "It's from Joon and I...and Hobi because he picked out the wrapping, but I paid for it," she babbled. Inside the package was a bottle of red wine - a little too fancy for him and his shabby apartment, but nonetheless, he was still grateful for it.
"Thanks," he replied, with a small laugh.
"It's tradition in our family to give a bottle of wine or alcohol as a housewarming gift. Our parents taught us that 'when it doubt, alcohol is the safest choice' when it came to picking those kinds of things,"
"That explains a lot about you and Hoseok then," he chuckled playfully, placing the bottle on the other side of the sink near the fridge. She gasped.
"You hush or I will take it back," Noah teased.
"You can't. It's my wine now," he winked. She rolled her eyes.
"Well as much as I love our little talks Yople, I have to get work. Do you like your gift?"
"I do, it's very appreciated,"
Noah clapped her hands. "YAY!" She threw her arms around Yoongi's neck, hugging him. "Oh, by the way, Joonie and I are hosting a dinner next week and by that I mean, it's you, Namjoon, Hoseok and I,"
"What's the occasion,"
"No occasion, I just always wanted to throw a dinner," she joked with a smile. "So wear something nice,"
"What time are you expecting me at?"
"Seven,"
"I'll be there,"
"Good. I brought you lunch too, cause you have a bad habit of not remembering to eat," Yoongi made a face and pointed to the door.
"Out," he laughed. "Begone!"
"Bye Yongo!"
"By Brat!"
"Have fun with your shelf!"
