Yoongi doesn't see Jimin for a week. He gets a text from the younger saying he's going home to visit some family, but Yoongi can hear him puttering around upstairs in his apartment. In the time of his absence, Yoongi comes to a lot of conclusions, and experiences a wide range of emotions in such a short time.

Jimin's in an abusive relationship. This part is the most obvious from what Yoongi could hear that day, and he spends at least a full day or two wondering if a) his ears were playing tricks on him for real, b) he was dreaming or c) it was a sick idea of an April fool's joke. But Jimin didn't seem like the type to do that. By the third day, he decided that yeah, Jimin's in an abusive relationship with a man he may or may not even be seeing.

But it explained the bruises, the tiredness, all the noises. Maybe Jimin was clumsy, but for the most part, Yoongi was convinced that the reason behind all the noises was his boyfriend - or ex - pushing him around, or beating on him. It made Yoong sick to think about.

Yoongi is scared and worried about Jimin. Scared that something is going to happen to him and that he won't be able to do anything. Worried that he's not going to be enough. He's also angry. Angry with himself for being so stupid to think that Jimin was just clumsy and try t play it off. He's angry for not noticing the signs sooner, or for saying something, but most of all he's angry at Jimin's friends for not doing anything about it. Yoongi surprised himself with being angry with Jimin because why the fuck was he letting his ex stay with him when he knew he was likely to cheat on him or to hurt him? It didn't make sense to Yoongi.

And he was still there. Yoongi was seething to know that his car was still parked in the lot. It hadn't left all week. He could hear him wandering around upstairs after Jimin. There were no loud noises in that week, but if Yoongi stood outside, or in his room, he could hear them arguing, and shouting. He could hear how Jimin tried to fight back, but was silenced almost immediately. Yoongi didn't want to think about what was happening up there. He didn't want to think about what was happening to Jimin.

He was angry again. Angry that he didn't do anything. Fuck confrontation, Yoongi didn't want Jimin to get hurt, but he was scared of what might happen to him if he tried to intervene. He didn't want to make things worse for Jimin by calling the cops or confronting his - whatever he was. The last thing he needed was for Jimin to get even more injured because he fucked up. Yoongi wasn't ready to handle the idea of Jimin getting hurt because of his actions. He'd never forgive himself.
