I don't have the Order Of The Phoenix book with me so this isn't fully accurate. I'M SO SORRY! IT'S NOT MY FAULT THE ONLY WAY I CAN READ THE BOOK IS BY BORROWING IT FROM MY VERY INTIMIDATING (BUT KIND) COUSIN!Virgil's Sudden Outburst
Remus, Deceit, Virgil and sometimes Remy were known as the 'Dark Sides'. The four had gotten this reputation by being introverted Slytherins who never participated in much. Most people had no opinion or disliked the four. Any younger Slytherins, however, would be in awe of the four and their reputation. These are the boys' roles:
Virgil was the anxious, shy nerd. The other four were overprotective of him and would send dozens of silent jinxes someone's way if they only made a slight comment. He was constantly paranoid, but that didn't mean he was useless. His anxiety made him feel the need to study more so he was the second brightest wizard in his year, first being a Ravenclaw by the name of Logan Woods. He also was the natural fight-or-flight reflex that got the rest out of trouble, knowing when the fight was safe or a lost battle. He could always get them out of anything, because of his innocent persona. Somehow, despite his anxiety, many believed he had a more dark side, since he was in this group. Either that, or they just loved him. Oh yeah, and Deceit and Virgil were dating.
Deceit was the leader. He was skilled in potions, duelling and anything that meant keeping him safe, even if some spells were kind of dark. Everyone feared him, but he was actually a softie if you knew him. He was really protective of his friends and, although he was, he had a lot of self-preservation and so he could be manipulative if it meant he got what he wanted. Though he was selfish, he was still a great friend if you were able to read him enough to be friends with him.
Remus was the disgusting flirt. He always had disgusting or repulsive ideas but, he was quite nice. He is the most protective of Virgil, really, because of his really selective loyalties. Remus had basically made it a routine to slap Remy every morning. Because he hadn't had his coffee yet and would try to kill Remus. It was also quite well known in Slytherin house that he ate his deodorant. You read it right, he ate deodorant.
Finally, Remy was the dramatic sleeper guy. He would usually hang out with an older Hufflepuff by the name of Emile Picani instead of the group, but he was still close friends with the rest. He was obsessed with coffee and sleeping. He could also get pretty dramatic and he was very unpredictable, also quite hypocritical. One second he was possessive, next minute he's complaining about how you're too clingy. You could never tell what he was going to say. Though he slept through lectures, Virgil would always tutor him on most evenings to keep his grades up. Virgil tutored the entire group in everything apart from potions, so it wasn't very special, except for how Remy was never awake for lectures and so took the most time tutoring.
Today it was the train ride to Hogwarts. Emile Picani had decided on staying with the four, instead of riding with his Hufflepuff friend. This was quite normal as the Hufflepuff was mainly best friends with Logan. Quite shockingly, Virgil would willingly sit next to said Hufflepuff (Patton Wind) during a few classes because he was entertaining and also helpful. Had Patton Wind been in the group, he would obviously be fathering Virgil. Remy was asleep, and so Emile and Virgil were talking. Deceit and Remus had their usual banter, until a certain topic came up.
"Do you believe that you-know-Who is back?" Deceit had asked.
"Well, I guess not. Roman believes it so I don't!" Remus declared, proudly.
"Remus... you can't just be the opposite of your brother just because you hate him. Be your own individual, don't force yourself to be the opposite of him..." Emile suggested, kindly.
"Still, Potter's a prat so I wouldn't believe it." Remus stated, stubbornly. "How about you guys?"
"Don't believe it." Deciet responded.
"I guess I do... Cedric was a great guy, so I don't think he'd die unless it was something like this..." Emile's sad voice trailed off.
"Until I'm given proof, I'm not making a decision." Virgil decided, shyly. "We don't have much proof for either, so we shouldn't go making assumptions."
"That's actually noble, Virge." Remus commented. "But I don't agree."
"We all have our own opinions." Virgil shrugged.
"Oh look, the 'dark sides'. The group of Slytherin misfits who stole my title as most popular Slytherin." A cold voice sneered. If Remus and Roman ever agreed on anything, it was that Draco Malfoy was a complete arrogant and intolerable prick.
(That hurt me to write. DRACO MALFOY MAY NOT BE A HERO BUT HE'S NOT A VILLAIN, OK!?! HE JUST HAD NO CHOICE. THE-BOY-WHO-HAD-NO-CHOICE!)
"Technically, we all didn't do it on purpose. We are just more likeable. I guess it's your karma for being a huge git to everyone." Remy stated, his voice tired from only just waking up. Draco Malfoy opened his mouth to protest.
"My father will hear about this!" Virgil mimicked in a high pitched voice. This was shocking as he hated confrontation or fights and everyone looked at him.
"I don't need to be any good at divination to know that was your response. Seriously, you can't just rely on your father because, one day, he'll be gone and you can't do anything about that? What will you then do, huh?"
Everyone, apart from Emile and Draco, noticed he was referring to how his father one day went to Voldemort and is now abusive and such.
"You shouldn't just take your parents for granted because, one day, they'll be gone and you won't have them anymore. Be grateful, don't just use them!" Everyone stared at him.
Virgil realised what he said and covered his mouth, while also trying to prevent a panic attack. Remus put one of his arms around the boy, comfortingly. While Virgil acted as if he hated contact, he actually felt more comfortable with hugs then he did words. He actually was a sucker for cuddles. This resulted in them just being s shoulder to cry on, not therapists to him when he was upset.
Draco Malfoy walked out, feeling intimidated by the shy boy's sudden outburst. Virgil wrapped his arms around his knees and leaned his head down.
"Virge, Hey..." Remus whispered. "It's fine... You were so brave back there."
"But, I was basically blaming him for my father... Yes, he's a prick but, that doesn't mean he should hear that. He should feel lucky to have his parents, not in fear of their deaths..." Virgil answered.
"He didn't, but now he might actually consider how his parents are important and not take them for granted." Emile smiled at the smaller boy.
"Thanks, guys..." Virgil muttered, obviously wanting the attention off of himself.
