Two chapters in one day? I mean, yeah, they're short but shshshshshshs. I also posted a chapter yesterday - how magical. This is the only time I've ever been remotely proud of myself since I was four and innocent-

"Please, Logan."

Logan had the urge to just walk away, until he heard the waver in Roman's voice. The pain. The genuine worry. The familiar tone. Logan had only heard this tone once.

"Please, Remus..." Roman pleaded.

"You left me in the compartment only because you wanted to fit in." Remus hissed.

"So, all this because you're upset I left you?" Roman questioned.

"No! Of course not! It's because you've always left me! You always abandoned me, because being the best brother is more important then your own twin's feelings! News flash : You can't replace him! He's dead because he was a Gryffindor Coward, who only wanted to impress our parents. You're going to end up the same." Remus sneered.

A shot of pain flashed through, Roman before it was filled with rage.

He scoffed, but he was obviously in pain. "I'm going to become a dead coward, huh? You're the evil one, you know! It's pathetic and ignorant to use his death against me! You're the coward, Remus. You're just a careless, pathetic coward!"

Logan realised something he should have noticed years ago. Roman only teased people, because he's in pain. It's his way of dealing with his insecurities. While Logan did things to be taken seriously, Roman did them to spare his pride. The two were similar. Only acting the way they did towards people because the pain and emotions were too much to handle, and they wanted to prove themselves, not only to others but to their own mind.
Roman wasn't only confronting him for Patton. It was because he had already lost his brother, who he cared dearly for, and couldn't lose Logan, too.

Logan let out a twisted chuckle.

"What's so funny?" Roman questioned.

"How everyone who changes does it to please others, usually because of their parents." A tear threatened to escape Logan's eyes as he said this. "Remus since he wanted to prove he wasn't like you, and because he was always the least favourite. You because you want to prove yourself, since your insecurities come from them. And me, because they've always taught me emotions are weak. I guess family really does play a part in how we mould ourselves to fit society's preferences."

"W - What...?" Roman whispered.

"I did truly care for Patton, you were right. But I was weak to do so. All emotions are just distractions to how we lead our lives, they hurt us. That's why I'm like this. You asked, there's my answer. It's best to lose emotions before they break us."

Roman realised that, just how stoic and resilient Logan may be, he was still afraid and breaking, despite how he thought his emotionless façade would be preventing that. It was causing that.

"If you truly loved Patt, you'd do anything for him, even hurt yourself if it was to spare his feelings." Roman stated, as Logan began to walk away. "You think being emotionless is possible. It's not. It's just lying to yourself, and blocking out an important factor of yours."

Roman hoped he could convince Logan to let down his guard for a bit. But, he couldn't. He saw a clear tear glisten in the other's dark blue eyes, but it seemed to be being held in. Logan forced himself to appear emotionless, and just walked away without a word.

Roman had cracked him open a tiny bit, but not enough. Roman could only ever do a scarce bit of the work, never the whole thing. Just something he'd always done. He could never do anything right, could he?
