"See you in 10" a message from Jayden says, appearing on my phone. I ignore the message and continue to ponder over my appearance in the mirror, over and over. I've decided with a pair of black ripped jeans, and a white crop top but I lack the confidence of looking good. I have no idea what to expect tonight as I've never had the regular teenage experience of partying.
"You need to dress sluttier." Millie says, interrupting me as she walks into my room.
"And look like all the other girls?" I ask and Millie grins.
"Yes, and to help you get some action tonight." Millie says with a wink. She gets comfortable on my bed and lies down, fiddling with my phone. "Oh, and I see Mr hottie over here is coming to pick you up. Maybe he will give you some tonight." Millie teases and I walk over to her and snatch my phone.
"Not a chance." I reply and shove my phone in my pocket before seeing another message reading that Jayden is out the front.
"I'm gonna go say hi to your lover while you sit here and stare at yourself a little more." Millie says running out of my room before I get the chance to pull her back. I quickly glance at myself once more in the mirror, before giving up and realising this is the best I'm going to look all night. I applied a light coat of foundation, along with brown eyeshadow and mascara, just to bring out my natural features. Nothing too dramatic.
I make my way downstairs and walk outside to see Jayden leaning against his motorbike while Millie goes crazy about it, freaking out like a crazy school boy.
"There is no way I'm going to this party on that thing." I say, and all that Jayden does is laugh.
"Well, we aren't gonna walk there. C'mon, let's go." Jayden beckons me over with a helmet in his hand. I look over at Millie and she does nothing but nod excitedly.
"Fine." I say, rolling my eyes at Millie and grabbing the helmet. Jayden sits on his bike and I sit behind him, never feeling so awkward in my life. Jayden starts up his bike and I instantly begin to feel nervous, as the bike rumbles beneath me.
"Where do I, put my.... Hands?" I awkwardly ask, and Jayden grabs my hands and wraps them around his waist. I've never felt this awkward in my life with my body pressed up against a boy I've only known for about a week.
"Hold on!" I hear Jayden shout before the bike takes off and instantly my grip around Jayden tightens as the bike speeds up down the street and the wind hits my face. He swerves around moving cars and continues to speed up down the street.
"Jayden! I am going to kill you!" I scream but I doubt he can hear me over the wind whipping past the both of us.
"I would like to see you try!" Jayden shouts back and he accelerates the bike. The wind continues to hit me hard as he speeds up and I struggle to keep my eyes open. Before I realise, Jayden pulls up to the party, a huge house full of drunk teenagers, literally everywhere. Jayden parks the bike in the driveway and slowly helps me off the bike, as my hands shake from all the adrenaline running through my veins.
"How do you feel? Little Miss Rebel?" Jayden says winking as he takes the helmet off my head and placing it on the bike.
"I have motion sickness, that's for sure." I admit, my head spinning as I try to balance myself. I haven't even had a drink yet and my head is already spinning like crazy.
"Follow me, I'll show you around. Introduce you to a few people." Jayden nods towards the house and I follow him like a little lost puppy, since I have never spoken to anyone else at this party. I recognise a few groups of girls from my school, and they're all dressed in barely anything. I look like a nun compared to these other girls surrounding me.
We walk inside, and hundreds of teens are swarming around the house. I notice a group of guys chugging beers in the corner, another group of guys doing vodka shots and a group of girls flashing their underwear. This is going to be interesting night for sure.
I follow Jayden and I see his group of mates that I met the other night and they all greet me with smiles and offer me a ton of drinks. I take a seat next to Zach on a couch, and I take a bottle of beer that he hands me eagerly. I take a sip and instantly feel sick at the bitter taste, but I continue to drink it down, to try and feel a little buzz.
"I've gotta say, I'm surprised to see you here." Zach smirks while taking a sip from his bottle, obviously tipsy, and on the brink of becoming fully intoxicated.
"Your best friend is here as well." Colin says as he takes a seat next to me, casually lighting up a joint like it's no big deal.
"Oh, fuck." I mumble, before forcing the alcohol down my throat. If I'm going to get through tonight, then I should at least try to ease up and avoid any confrontation.
"Last time I saw her she was walking upstairs with Zane." Colin adds, and takes a long drag from his joint. He exhales the smoke and it blows in my direction, the strong smell fills my lungs and my head instantly begins to spin.
"Boys! We're gonna play truth or dare! Come and play fuckers!" Sammy stumbles in and slurs, clearly very intoxicated. "Morgan, come and join." Sammy says, pointing to me.
"Ah... I Don't think-" I stutter but Zach cuts me off.
"Yes, let's play. I know it's what twelve-year olds do but it's a laugh when we're all smashed." Zach says and grabs my hands, pulling me up from the couch and dragging me over to the kitchen where a bunch of kids are sitting on chairs in a circle. I thought everyone was past the truth or dare phase, but I guess not.
I sit down on a chair next to Zach and Sammy, as they are the only two kids I know around here. I look around for Jayden, but he seemed to have disappeared when I sat down with Zach.
This is going to be interesting.
