I slam the car door behind me and hit my hands against the dashboard out of anger. My father looks like a complete idiot running back to her all because she has money, and I know for a fact he's desperate for a cut for himself. And my mother, acting like she is a queen, all because she is now married to some rich old man who can actually stand her.
"What happened in there?" Jayden asks while he sits patiently in the driver's seat.
"They're a bunch of idiots, that's what happened," I grunt, so angry I don't even feel like talking about it. "My father is here, basically because my mother is offering us money."
"Sounds like a bit of a gold-digging situation." Jayden scoffs and I manage to laugh a little at his remark.
"My so-called mother is now married to some old guy. I think he owns a law firm. I don't know how he tolerates her. He probably doesn't even know she has any kids." I say to Jayden as he is the only one in the car. Millie is standing outside talking to my father, and she looks like she is about to burst into tears.
"I think her rich old man is out of town for work, so my father is shacking up here with his ex-alcohol-and-drug-addicted-wife," I say, feeling even angrier as I finish that sentence.
"At least she doesn't look like she's stocked up on the drugs now. I can tell by her eyes, she's sober." Jayden informs me, and I want to question how he knows this, but at the same time, I'd rather not know.
"I just find it weird that my ex-mother is probably cheating on her new husband with her ex-husband. Really makes me question the human race." I mumble, feeling so much anger and hatred towards that lady.
Soon enough, Millie finishes up her talk with our father and she plumps herself into the backseat, eyes slightly red.
"Well, let's just say we're going to have enough money for University," Millie mutters, clicking her seatbelt on. "He's coming home tonight."
"Good on him," I mutter back, keeping my eyes away from the house as we drive off.
