I sit with Jayden in the library, casually watching him as he scrolls through endless Facebook profiles. His eyes are buried into the computer, so much that he doesn't notice my waving hands in front of his face.

"Jayden, let's get going, there's no use in this." I whine. As soon as I get hungry and bored, I start to get moody, and I lose my shit easily.

Jayden breaks his concentration from the computer and checks his phone quickly. "Shit, it's almost six." Jayden says and yawns, "let's get going."

"I'm starving." I say quietly.

"Alright, I'll talk you somewhere to eat. The place down the street from here?" Jayden asks.

"Yes please!" I shout a little too loudly, standing up too quickly from the plastic chair that was making my butt hurt from sitting down for hours on end.

"Morgan relax will ya!" Jayden says jokingly as he laughs. Jayden logs off the computer and gets up from his chair.

The cold night time breeze lashes me in the face as I vastly open the door. "Ahhhhh, freedom." I say throwing my hands up in the air, and turning to smile at Jayden, "freedom has never felt so damn good."

Jayden gives me a slight laugh before he checks his phone again and begins to walk with me down the street. I have barely experienced Jayden laugh besides him laughing at my unfortunate events that have occurred recently. Needless to say, he only really laughs when bad things happen to other people.

We approach the diner and Jayden opens the door for me, letting me walk in first. I give him a small smile to thank him and I talk to one of the waitresses for a booth for the two of us.

I slide into a booth and Jayden sits in front of me and passes me a menu.

"I'm starving, I could literally eat everything off of this menu." I say, feeling my stomach rumble.

"Literally same. I didn't realise we were in there for long. Felt like an hour." Jayden says, keeping his eyes down at the menu.

My dad would kill me if I brought a boy home like this, it would be the end of the line for me and my eighteen years on this planet. My dad would hate me bringing any guy home. But a boy with tattoos and an addiction to smoking? Not a chance.

"I'm getting this triple stack burger, it looks fucking amazing." Jayden curses, and he places the menu down on the table.

"I'm getting that as well. Just, no cheese." I say, scrunching my nose at the thought of cheese in my burger. The waitress comes around and we both order our drinks and our food, I pass the girl the menus and thank her.

Before Jayden and I begin to start talking again, he freezes when he looks up behind me at the diner door.

"Oh, shit." Jayden swears under his breath and worry instantly flashes onto his face.

"What, is it?" I say and turn around to look at what has caught his instant attention. A bunch of guys walk in the diner, punk looking guys with tattoos and piercings. "Who are they?" I ask Jayden.

"A few guys you don't wanna mess with that's for sure." Jayden says quietly, his fists balling. Jayden's eyes instantly widen, and I can tell he has become instantly anxious. "Don't say a word, they're coming over here."

"Well well well, look who we have here. Jayden. And you must be?" One of the most intimidating members asks, looking directly into my eyes.

"None of your fucking business, Harry." Jayden curses at this guy, swearing through his clenched teeth. Jayden's face flushes red, instantly appearing angry.

"I'm not causing any harm here Jay, I'm just curious." Harry says, his eyes peering over me, and I instantly feel like shrinking.

"Leave me alone." Jayden blankly says, moving his eyes away from Harry and looking down at his hands.

"Wait a second, I know you!" Harry says at me, "you're Morgan! Zane's little slut!" As soon as Harry says this, Jayden instantly jumps up and wraps his hand around his throat.

"You shut your fucking mouth, she's not a slut, nor is she Zane's!" Jayden shouts in Harry's face, tightening his grip harder on Harry's neck. Harry slightly squirms and the other guys apart of the gang start to pull and swear at Jayden. Jayden finally releases his grip on Harry's neck, Harry instantly gasping for air. Everyone in the diner has gone completely silent, all staring at Jayden and Harry.

"You stay the FUCK away from me, got it?!" Jayden screams as Harry rubs his now bruising neck. More eyes peer onto them, and I feel like shrinking down into the booth.

"You better watch your back from now on. The both of you, got it?" Harry threatens before he walks off, with the other guys following behind him.

"What was that?" I whisper to Jayden.

"Nothing." Jayden blankly responds. Soon enough, everyone in the diner begins talking again and the focus is off of Jayden.

"What do you mean nothing? You almost chocked him to death Jay!" This is the first time I've called him Jay, and it was by accident.

Jayden laughs, "you're starting to call me Jay, wow you're moving fast."

"What?" I reply, confused.

"Nothing." Jayden says again.

"I like it, it's easier than saying Jayden." I say, and I notice the waitress walking over to us with our food.

"Okay." Jayden says quietly, and I see his eyes grow as his burger and drink is placed in front of him.

Jayden doesn't say anything else and he completely ignores me as he digs into his food. I decide to do the same.
