I wake up, and the bed is empty. I look around the room but see no sign of Jayden anywhere. I grab my phone and check the time. It's midday. I slowly get out of the bed and make my way downstairs, the smell of bacon and eggs filling the house. I don't realize how hungry I am until I feel my stomach grumble angrily. The last thing I remember is falling asleep next to Jayden, or was it a dream? I have no idea.
"Morning sunshine!" Millie calls from the kitchen as she spots me, "fun night last night! You were smashed. Well, I was too."
The pounding headache I have is evidence of all the alcohol I consumed last night.
"I know. My head is killing me." I groan, taking a seat at the table, rubbing my temples over and over.
"Here, have some food," Millie says and hands me a plate with bacon and eggs, along with a side of toast. I thank her, and I begin eating within seconds.
"Where is everyone else?" I ask, looking around and not spotting any of the boys.
"They all went down to the beach for a little bit. They're playing soccer or something." Millie says. "But hey. I saw you and Jay getting all cuddly while you two were sleeping. So much for the scary asshole we thought he was."
"Yeah, where did that come from again?" I ask.
"I don't know, just heard things around school. I didn't think he was the type to get cuddly in bed." Millie shrugs and joins me at the table.
"He even told me to stop kissing him because I was still a bit drunk," I whisper, hoping no one else is in the house.
"He what?!" Millie looks at me, shocked.
"Yeah, didn't want to take advantage of me, or make me do something I'll regret," I whisper back.
"Where is this kid's reputation? Honestly?" Millie says, slamming her hands against the table and I can't help but laugh.
"It's all rumors, Mill." I say, "I don't know. Just falling asleep with someone is a very vulnerable thing to do. I'm a bit shocked as well."
"Well, are you guys anything yet?" Millie asks.
"No, we aren't anything yet. I don't even know what to feel about the two of us." I say, and I look back quickly behind me and I see the boys making their way back to the house. Shit.
"Shit, they're coming. Just talk about this later." Millie quickly says before she gets up from the table and goes back into the kitchen.
The door opens, and the boys walk in, each greeting me hello and informing me about how drunk I was last night.
"You were going crazy! I swear, I love the drunk you!" Colin says, and I bury my head into my palms. I am never drinking again.
"Don't remind me." I groan and all I hear is more talk about how drunk I was. First and last time I'll ever be drunk. I notice Jayden walks in last and I instantly forget how to act around his friends.
Jayden closes the door behind himself, glances at me and makes his way to the kitchen, without even saying hello. I sigh and eat the rest of my breakfast. Silly little me, expected him to act all romantic in front of everyone. But I should've known better. That's the last thing he is going to be doing.
I clean my dishes and make my way upstairs to begin packing my bags, so I won't be rushing everything later. I open the door and see Jayden sitting on the bed, while texting away on his phone, barely acknowledging me.
"Ah, hey?" I say to Jayden and he looks up from his phone.
"Hey." He awkwardly replies, looking at me for a second then looking back at his phone.
"Why are you acting like this now?" I ask as soon as I close the bedroom door behind me.
"Nothing, get off my back." Jayden mumbles, looking pissed, as he continues to fidget away with his phone.
"Wow, okay then." I say as I begin to feel pissed off at him. Back to square one now. Jayden ignores what I say, and he just continues to scroll away through his phone. I suddenly feel like looking over at his phone and taking a look at what he is doing, but that would just annoy him off even more. I leave it and I begin grabbing my clothes and folding them into my bag, along with my toiletries from the bathroom.
"Morgan?" Jayden calls out, "your phone is ringing. It's a no caller id."
I stop what I'm doing in the bathroom and I go to my phone, answering the random call.
"Hello?" I ask into the receiver, waiting for a response but the person on the other line is completely silent. "Hello?" I ask again, but then the person hangs up the call.
"Who was it?" Jayden asks.
"I don't know. They didn't say anything." I reply, trying to think of who on Earth would just call me randomly. But I can't think of anyone. "Anyway, what time are we leaving?"
"Leave in about an hour or so." Jayden casually says as he lies back down on the bed and gets back onto his phone.
"What is your issue?" I ask, sounding as pissed as ever.
"Nothing. Why do you have to assume there is something wrong?" Jayden says, glaring at me.
"You're acting like you don't even know me. Acting distant and like an asshole." I say, chucking all my stuff into my bag.
"I'm just thinking," Jayden says quietly.
"About what?" I ask, starting to get angry the way he's acting.
"About you and I," Jayden replies, looking down.
"Okay, well let me know what you have decided once you finish thinking and shutting me out." I say, so irritated with him I walk out of the room.
