"Girl, named Morgan. Truth or dare?" A boy with a buzzcut and a cigarette in his mouth asks me.

"Umm. Dare? I guess." I say and instantly his eyes light up. Maybe that was the wrong choice.

"Well. I dare you to..." The boy says but he's cut off by a girl whispering in his ear. "I dare you to kiss Zach."

What? Kiss Zach? I look back at Zach awkwardly. This is the second time meeting the kid, I'm in no shape to make out with him. Shit. The last time I ever kissed a boy I was fourteen and had no idea what I was doing. It was a complete mess.

I close my eyes and I feel Zach's lips against mine and soon enough my mouth opens with his and all I taste is tobacco and beer. The taste almost makes me gag as Zach grabs my neck and tries to pull me closer. I suddenly feel his mouth move off mine and I open my eyes too Zach on the floor and Jayden standing over him. Jayden? Where did he come from?

"What the fuck are you doing?!" Jayden shouts and grabs his shirt, raising his fist like he is about to punch him. I jump up and grab Jayden's fist, trying to stop him from punching Zach.

"Fucking relax! It was a dare!" Zach shouts from the floor as Jayden doesn't let his grip go.

"You thirsty little dog! I'm gonna fucking kill you!" Jayden threatens and slams his fist into Zach's jaw, the sickening sound of a crack echoes through the air.

"Jayden! Stop!" I shout, jumping in front of Jayden. "What the hell are you doing?!" I notice everyone around us has gone silent and all eyes are on the two boys.

Jayden doesn't answer me, but he lets go of Zach and lets him slump down to the floor. Jayden looks at me for a split second, then storms off through the crowd and disappears again. I follow Jayden through the crowd all the way to the back of the house, where I find him grabbing a huge bottle of whiskey.

"What the fuck is your problem?" I demand, anger rising through me. "What the fuck gave you the right to punch Zach in the face like that? He didn't do anything wrong we were playing truth or dare!"

Jayden scoffs, and opens the bottle of whiskey and begins downing it. "What is my problem? The fact that he tries to take advantage of you. I know him better than you ever will. I know exactly what he's like." Jayden glares at me and I instantly feel like sinking into the ground. "You have no fucking idea, about anything."

"Since you're being such an asshole, I'm going to leave you here to enjoy your party. I hope you get lucky tonight, asshole." I respond to Jayden, feeling like punching him in the face but I hold myself down.

"Fuck you." Jayden spits to me, before he continues to drink down his bottle. I decide there's no point in standing here and fighting with this kid, it's not going to get anywhere. I feel hurt at him swearing at me, but I decide to leave him here in his miserable state. Our new 'friendship' wasn't going to last long anyway. I'm better off by myself. I give him one last look, before I walk away and try to find my way out of this damn house. I realise I have no way of getting home, so I'll have to order an Uber soon, so I can get home before anything else goes wrong here. My first ever party, and I have never hated the experience so much, and it only lasted a little more than an hour.

I spot the exit and I quickly walk to it to, desperate for a breath of fresh air. I step out of the doorway and I'm blocked from stepping any further by a girl. I look up, and it's Mel. Great, now it's going to get worse.

"Well, look who it is." Mel sneers at me, her face almost level with mine. A few other girls stand behind her, looking like they'll sacrifice anything for her.

"What do you want?" I ask, trying to move past her but I'm completely blocked.

"I saw you sucking face with Zach, nice one there you little slut." Mel insults and the girls behind her begin to laugh as they stare me down.

"I didn't come here to cause trouble. Just leave me alone." I insist and use all of my strength and push her out of the way, and she stumbles over. The girls behind her hurry to catch her and help her regain her balance.

Before Mel can say anything else, I'm running out onto the street and away from all the commotion. I hear her screaming from a distance, but I don't bother listening.

Now that I'm on my own, it's all about me defending myself. No one else.
