The last round of combat had commenced and everyone was shaking in their seats. I stood on the field a couple meters from the fight between the warriors - including the female one.

Cyrus stood beside Enzo, over on the other side, watching with his hand on his chin - a sign that he was deeply concentrating and also worried. His nervousness brought an uneasiness within me as I watched as multiple times the female warrior would be slammed in the ground. The other warrior was huge —

*And attractive* My wolf added.

She was incredibly small next to him. But I noticed that she had one advantage over him - she was fast, quick, too quick for him. She was like a cat - the moment she was thrown onto the dirt, she would pick herself up quickly and lunge at him.

"Wanna put money on it?" Jaxon whispered to me, as he stood on my left.

"No way, I'm not even sure who will win." I replied.

"You're no fun — it's obvious that the bigger dude will win."

"But what if she surprises us?" I asked and I instantly clapped my mouth shut.

"She?" He turned his head to face me, a look of confusion on his face. "Are you alright there Luna? I don't think your brain's working today," He chuckled and nudged me with his shoulder, causing me to lean over to the side before regaining my balance.

"I meant — what if the smaller warrior wins,"

"Very unlikely but keep the hope alive, Nevaeh." He said in a sing-song tone and I let out a quick laugh.

"The female finals are starting soon — there's only like five of them left," He shrugged. "And Jordyn's with them."

My eyes opened and a sense of relief washed over me. "Thank Goddess! And Sydney's in the race too?" I asked him.

"Yeah but Cyrus doesn't want Sydney on his board anymore — he's looking for a replacement, so hopefully Jordyn can prove herself." He whispered the moment a loud grunt was heard from the warriors and I shot my head in that direction.

The smaller warrior had pinned the larger one down and stretched out his arm and twisted it - resting it on his back. The large warrior yelled in pain and the smaller one looked over at Cyrus for approval to stop.

Cyrus stared at the altercation for a moment and I could tell that he was waiting - testing - trying to prove that the female was truly the winner of the fight.

Silence

Just silence in the arena, the only faint sounds were the heavy breathing of the fighting wolves.

When Cyrus was satisfied, he took one step forward.

But at that very moment, the larger wolf managed to get himself up, tossing the female over to the side. I cringed as her head slammed onto the dirt and she laid there for a moment, trying to gather herself.

The larger warrior took this as an opportunity to pounce on her, landing punches to her head and sides.

"Enough!" I tried to yell but Jaxon held me back. "What if he kills her?!"

"That isn't uncommon here, and what's this 'her' business." He asked me and I let out a sigh, turning away.

All I could hear were the sounds of fists smashing into solid bone and my wolf whimpered.
