"What's happening?!" Jarrod yelled out as I exited the room, Madeline walked ahead into the kitchen."Is everything alright? Where's the Alpha?" He asked again and I tore my eyes from Madeline to face Jarrod.
"You don't need to worry about anything, Jarrod." I said with a comforting smile. "There is an issue with the packs and Cyrus believes that —"
"I know about all of that, I'm asking where am I to go?" He interrupted, brushing me off.
"What do you mean?"
"Cyrus promised that I'd fight alongside him, where is he?"
I widened my eyes.
Hell no
"He left, so I think you should just stay put. It's safer this way."
Jarrod turned around, facing the other warriors that stood waiting for Tristans orders. "I'm going with them."
"Jarrod, this really isn't the time for you to be stubborn. There's a bigger problem out there and I need to know that you'll be safe here." I said seriously.
The young pup, fourteen and almost taller than me, stepped away from me. I reached out to him in frustration but he shrugged me off.
"This is the time that I prove myself! To you, the Alpha and my father.." He said proudly, his face stone cold and determined. My eyes dropped to his injured arm, worry and anxiousness flooded through me.
"Jarrod I can't let you do—"
"I'm not asking for permission." He spat and jogged over to Tristan, who had barked orders at the warriors that had them running behind each other out of the PackHouse.
Jarrod joined in-between them. I tried my hardest to find him but the warriors towered him, and I couldn't even get through to find him and pull him out. Within a minute, all thirty plus of them had exited the foyer, leaving me standing helpless.
*We need to warn the other Alphas*
I ran back into Cyrus office, my hands reaching for his office phone. I mentally prayed to the goddess that I'd remember my mothers number.
I sat down quickly, placing the phone to my ear and dialling the numbers with so much force that my fingers hurt.
Ringing..
Pick up!
Ringing..
"Hello?" My mother's voice asked out and I let out a breath.
"Mother! It's me, I need you to listen closely." I said quickly.
"Nevaeh? Are you alright??" Her tone held so much concern.
"Yes! Listen! BloodMoon has declared war on MoonCrest. Cyrus has lost his mind and I need you to warn father, and if you have contact with Luna Ella from Luminous—inform her too!"
"What?! Why — are you safe?"
"Mother! He is on his way to you guys now! Deliver the message and prepare MoonCrest for combat! I've gotta go, love you." I rushed and hung up the phone.
