"I'm so sorry Cyrus! I was startled by the two of you. I didn't know anyone was still in here." Madeline smiled, bending down to the floor.
"No, no." Cyrus laughed, running over to her. "Don't touch that, you'll hurt yourself." He bent down to her level and picked up the glass pieces, so effortlessly.
"No, let me." Madeline smiled. "I'll go get a dustpan and brush."
I cocked my head to the side in confusion..
Since when did she call him Cyrus? And why didn't he seemed fazed by it.
Madeline jumped up, rushing out of the room. I didn't move a muscle. I stood there with my arms crossed watching as Cyrus continued to pick up the large glass pieces.
"She's got it, Cyrus." I blurted out, my lips forming into a tight line.
He ignored me, standing up and walking over to the kitchen, placing the glass pieces into the trashbin. At that moment, Madeline rushed back in and quickly swept up the small glass shards, and walked over to the bin, dumping it out.
"Thank you, Alpha." Madeline stated and Cyrus brushed her off.
"It's not a big deal. You didn't get cut did you?" He asked her, walking back to me.
"Even if she did, she'll heal immediately." I interrupted and Madeline forced a smile nodding her head in agreement.
Cyrus' arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me into him and I groaned, shrugging him off me.
"Why did she call you by your name?" I whispered as Madeline walked out of our view.
Cyrus's purple eyes flashed black as he leaned forward to my cheek, breathing in my scent.
"I've missed you," He smiled, his arms finding my waist again.
"Yeah, I know." I rolled my eyes. "You didn't answer my question."
"It's not important," He shrugged, pulling me into him.
"Not important?! The Cyrus I know would never let a staff — especially fucking Madeline call him by his name."
"The Cyrus you knew is gone, Nevaeh. That man was consumed by anger. I've let that all go now." He replied honestly, placing a kiss to my cheek. I tried fighting him off but I was consumed by his scent.
"Let's get out of here," He said suddenly, placing a short kiss to my lips.
"But —" I opened my mouth to protest. There was still so much that didn't make any sense about Cyrus's disappearance and not to mention Ragon's photographs of me.
"They won't even notice, come on." Cyrus smiled sweetly, grabbing my hand, and walking us out of the living room to the front door and I found myself unable to control the smile that crept up my lips.
As we walked, I spotted Kendra's phone on the couch and remembered that I had hung up on Enzo.
"Wait, I have to give Kendra her phone." I said, pulling Cyrus backwards.
