Waking up this morning felt effortless. There wasn't any struggle and I didn't feel like I had to fight my wolf to stay in bed a little longer. We were both eager for answers and we didn't care how we got them.

Last night, I had tried to call Cyrus but he didn't answer. I needed some degree of advice on questioning intruders.

Don't get me wrong, I had watched Cyrus and Enzo in action but I never agreed with their methods — even if their methods had a success rare of 99.9%

But here I sat in the kitchen, after digging my face in Madeline's famous pancakes, waiting for Enzo to come down.

Why was he so late? He usually woke up earlier than everyone.

Kendra sat opposite me, filled with numerous questions about last night. It was the talk on everyone's lips.

"Do you reckon that they had been feeding on werewolves in order to survive for a year?" She asked and I shrugged.

"It's a possibility. But I'm still intrigued by the pup. It's eyes were not stained like the mother and grandfather." I said.

"I wasn't aware that those kinds of rogues could mate successfully." Kendra added, placing the spoon to her infants mouth.

"Me neither. With Josiah, he was lifeless, unable to feel any emotion, even when it came to his son Jarrod. But with them — it was clear that their attachment was unbreakable. I saw love, fear and hope. So I'm very confused." I let out a sigh.

"I couldn't agree more," A voice called from behind me and I spun around quickly, my eyes widening in shock at the male.

"Jaxon!" I beamed and ran over, wrapping my hands around him. "You've been gone for too long."

"It's been like four days," He scoffed and I laughed, releasing him. He greeted Kendra and baby Xena with a wave, before wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

"Why aren't you down there?" He asked me, practically pushing me out of the kitchen doors, out into the courtyard. He jogged forward in excitement and I gave him a weird look.

Why was he so gleeful this afternoon?

"I thought we were all meeting here first." I replied and he jumped onto the grass, waiting for me to catch up to him.

I trotted forward.

"Is everyone down there already?" I asked him.

"Yep." He said quickly and led us to the shed.

"When did you get here?" I asked him.

"About an hour ago, I have not slept since yesterday." He said joyfully and I scoffed.

"You don't seem tired at all, Jax." I snickered, pushing him with my shoulder.

"I am this close to falling apart but someone's keeping me up." He smirked and pushed me back, almost knocking me out.

"Someone? Who?" I asked him with curiosity.

"Jordyn obviously," He said shortly as we got to the front doors of the shed.

"Wait, I'm confused. I thought she was with Darion." I looked over to him, and tried to make eye contact with him. But failed as he pushed the doors open and stepped down into the shed.

I followed closely behind him, watching my feet as I stepped down onto the hard cement floor.

"What are you up to Jaxon?" I teased, catching up to him.
