"Sydney wouldn't betray Cyrus even if she hates you simply because she still wants to fuck him." Jaxon said bluntly, directing it to Cyrus and I growled loudly.

"Sydney's not fucking anyone." I said, teeth grinding against each other, my eyes locked on Jaxon.

"I'm just saying," Jaxon shrugged, getting up and taking his leave. The large door closed behind him and I tried to calm myself down, focusing on pleasant thoughts.

"We'll start with the staff, and work our way up to the inner circle." Cyrus stated and Enzo nodded.

"Yes, let's focus on the staff, especially the ones that stay too close to us." Enzo added and stood up, leaving Cyrus and I in the large boardroom.

By now I had my back pressed against the back of my chair, staring at the window opposite me. I could feel Cyrus on the right, staring at me in amusement.

From my peripheral, Cyrus stood up and walked away, out of sight.

A gasp escaped my lips as I felt myself being pulled backwards, scratching the timber floors as Cyrus spun me around, facing him now.

"Has something upset you, Nevaeh?" He asked softly, his warm breath fanning my face as he bent down, hands gripping either side of the arms of my chair.

"No," I groaned, a blatant lie.

"Don't tell lies baby" He smirked and I folded my arms over my chest, leaning towards him.

"I just don't understand why she's still working here?! Like, I know she's a great warrior and shit but come on, why must she work so close to you?!" I blurted out, watching him.

"Who?" Cyrus asked with a chuckle and I sent him a glare. He knew exactly whom I was talking about.

Cyrus let out a soft chuckle, placing a kiss to my forehead. "No one gets close to me besides you and Enzo. Don't worry about Sydney."

"But you agree that she could be -"

"The traitor? Yes, anyone could. But we'll discuss all of that later. I'm starving." He pushed himself backwards, standing straight in front of me.

Honestly. I was too.

"Let's go find out what Madeline and her staff have cooking," I suggested, getting up from my seat.

Cyrus stepped forwards, so close to me that our toes were touching. I opened my mouth to speak but he silenced me by placing a kiss to my lips.

"First, let's finish what we started," He said softly, lips brushing against my lips.

*Yes!* My wolf yelled.

"Like here? In the boardroom?" I whispered for some dumb reason, knowing well that we were alone in this large room.
