Enzo's P.O.V: Somewhere in the woods
3 AMI've never been on the run.
Never really had to.
Most times Cyrus and I would occasionally sneak out of the Pack borders just to run around in the woods.
Alpha Ragon disproved of this practice and many times would punish Cyrus physically for it. However when he met Madeline, his focus towards Cyrus and I diminished. He placed his focus on pleasing her in every way — completely neglecting the Luna.I remember one night, Cyrus and I were about twelve years. It was about six years or so after his mother's passing. I found him in his room, drawing endlessly.
He drew the same picture every night — the bloody scene of his mother's suicide.
As fucked up as it sounds, the more he drew, the better he got at it, the more detail he encompassed. Although each painting was the same, Cyrus would add a small difference to it — a small detail, something that he felt that he 'remembered' and had forgotten to add in the last drawing.
That night, I had offered that we pack a bag and get away for some time. He was reluctant at first but I was finally able to convince him. We left shortly after, sneaking past the guards and running into the woods.
That was the faithful day that Cyrus shifted into his wolf — very much prematurely. Most wolves shift around sixteen — like myself.
Cyrus had said that something happened to him that night of his mother's death. He had described it as 'my wolf awoken' and 'I can't control him.'
That was the first sign that Cyrus' wolf had more control over him. A sign that I had neglected and not taken seriously.
And now, with all the chaos that's unfolded, Cyrus was close to being un-saveable. By now he would have had Jordyn and Jaxon in his custody, questioning them endlessly.
"What are you thinking of?" Nevaeh asked from behind me.
I turned around, completely losing awareness of where I was at that moment. We were standing in the woods, I was staring up at the moon, while she held tree branches in her hand.
I stepped towards her, grabbing the branches from her and placing them in the middle of our small unorganised camp.
"It's unwise that we start a fire Nevaeh." I informed her. It could give off our signal and notify Cyrus and his warriors.
"I told you that I'm freezing, Enzo. I'm sorry but I refuse to die in the woods." She shook her head and I scoffed lightly, watching her as she bent down, twisting and rubbing the branches together.
I shook my head, walking over and sitting beside her. I sat there, watching her as she failed miserably.
"Do you need help?" I asked her.
"Obviously," She breathed out, holding the two branches up.
I lifted my hands, reaching for the branches.
At that moment, my hands grazed her fingers lightly and I felt my wolf jump out. My heart almost lunged out of my chest as I grabbed the branches.
Nevaeh noticed this too and quickly pulled her hands away from me.
"W-what was that?" She asked in what looked like fear and confusion.
"I-I don't know." I breathed in shock.
I had never felt that spark before in my life. And this wasn't the first time that Nevaeh and I had touched. — yes I know I felt something for her but nothing this strong, nothing this obvious.
