~ Location: BloodMoon's Dark Shed | Nevaeh's P.O.V | 2 PM ~"Go, she's waiting." Enzo hissed and I stepped forward, pushing the doors open, exposing Lyrica.
Her head was turned to her right - towards the window/mirror. She just kept staring at it, as if waiting for something to happen.
"Lyrica?" I spoke up and sat down in front of her.
She jolted and turned her head to face me instantly.
"Yes, I am Lyrica and you are Luna Nevaeh of BloodMoon." She said in a hushed tone.
"How'd you know?"
"Because I've got better hearing than you," She said simply and my mind raced to thoughts of Josiah. He too had enhanced hearing, amongst other abilities.
I nodded my head and placed my hands on the table.
"How did you become this?" I asked her directly.
"The red eyes?" She asked and I nodded.
"When our previous leader - Malcom had died, another man took control and injected us with serums." She said.
"I am aware." I interrupted her. "I want to know how you were able to survive this long without reinjection of the serum. Because my people went out to help and heal the other rogues, so where were you?"
"My father and I never stayed with the rest of the rogues. When we were turned into these beasts, we resisted and fled to escape." She clarified. "We were not aware of the war between BloodMoon and MoonLight. Because we were alone, we struggled in the forests so we came back. And when we got here after almost a year, we noticed that all our friends had been healed and now had purple stained eyes." Lyrica explained.
"They must have been shocked by your reappearance."
"They feared us. They saw us as a threat." She said harshly, anger clear in her tone.
"Who wouldn't?" I replied in the same tone. "Those serums made you feed on werewolves."
She was silent for a moment.
"How did you survive that entire year without reinjection?" I asked again. Was there someone making those serums again?
"We don't know. My father likes to call it luck. We would feed on whatever we could find, rabbits, deers, foxes or even the corpses of humans." She shrugged and turned her head back to the mirror, her eyes zoning out.
"Okay, so have you fed on any werewolves — recently?" I asked her.
"Three." She said honestly and my eyes widened.
"Three?!" I asked shocked, leaning backwards in my chair.
"Three in total." Lyrica turned to me and lowered her eyes. "But the third was not by my own hand. Please do not misunderstand and think that we willingly feed on our kind. We only feed when we need to or when they are already dead. We have learnt to control our impulses. We are not a threat."
"That's hard to believe Lyrica. Were those three already dead? Or did you kill them for yourself?"
"Don't insult the dead. We do not feed willingly on werewolves." She said seriously. "We are not the enemy!" She raised her voice.
"Then who is?" I cocked my head to the side.
I watched her carefully. She turned back to the mirror and let out a sigh before turning back to me.
