Let it be • Draco Malfoy

When I got back to Hogwarts, I didn't meet Draco at the astronomy tower as he had asked me to. My mind was still trying to process what Remus had told me over Christmas and I was still trying to shift the darkness that weighed heavy on my shoulders. Helios had been avoiding me, and I found it difficult to get anywhere near him in hopes of speaking to him. I avoided Draco as much as possible. George had spent Christmas with his Auntie and Uncle in Venice, wh were also Wizards. He came back with loads of stories and Luna and I listened to them with excitement as he told them. I glanced over to look at Ron, but instead caught eyes with Draco. I was quick to look away, shivering slightly at the interaction. 

"Are you going after school?" George asked me and I looke at him quickly, I was slightly confused as to what he was talking about. "The room of requirment?" He questioned and I chuckled lightly and nodded. 

"Oh yeah, I'll be there. I can't wait to see what my patronus is." I said with a smile and he nodded. I'd been trying to be in a better mood around my friends, I hated the thought of them worrying about me or me making them sad. Sirius and Remus told me that I was allowed to be upset at the world, but I just wanted everyone around me to be happy. We finished lunch and then finished our last two classes, I was feeling pretty motivated. When Harry explained to us what to do, I closed my eyes. 

"You can do it, Maggie." George whispered as I thought about my friends, Ron, Harry, Hermione, Fred and George, Luna. I smiled wider as I thought about Remus and Sirius, I opened my eyes and got ready with my wand. 

"Expecto Patronum." I said and out the end of my wand, a beam of light appeared and soon enough a fox manifested from it. I smiled as the fox danced around my feet, running around me. Ilaughed as I looked over to Ron who was already smiling at me, I looked at his patronus and smiled as I watched the jack russell terrier dance through the air. But as I was about to turn to Harry who was walking up beside me, the room shook. Quickly everyone's Patronus's sank away and we all gathered in the middle of the room as the room shook again. A hole appeared in the wall and I walked furhter backwards, Fred placed his hands on my shoulders to stop me. A hole apperared in the wall and Neville went to pear through it, but quickly, Harry pulled him back. It seemed to happen in slow motion as the wall blew up. Fred hugged me close to him as he trned away from the explosion. I held his arms tightly as we turned back to where the dust was settling, to reveal Umbridge and her minions, and Cho. I quickly looked at Draco who was looking at me. 

"Get them." Umbridge said and Fred still didn't let go of me as slolwy all out of friends began to ger escorted away. But when Draco appproached, Fred held me tighter. 

"Just give her to me, Weasle." Draco said harshly pulling me with him. 

"Happy now, Draco? You've ruined the only chance of helping Hogwarts." I spat, my words full of anger as he escorted me.

"Why won't you just give in like your brother has." he mumbled and I looked at him in shock, he stared at me and behind him I watched as Helios had Fred by the shoulder and was walking him to whereever we were going. 

"Helios!" I yelled and he looked at me, everyone did. His hard exterior dropped and he looked at me pained, but I couldn't get through to him any further as Draco dragged me with him. My mind raced, what was going on,why was Helios taking the side that was fighting against us. I looked over at George who was looking at me sadly.

I sat at George's feet as he braided my hair. It was night now and we couldn't sleep. i was studying my exam and he was just stressed in general. I tried to wrap my mind around what happed with Helios and Draco.George had been quiet for mostof the day which was quite unlike him. 

"I don't understand, Helios told me not to talk to DRaco, now he's working with him. This is awful." I said and George cleared his throat. He was silent, so I turned around to him. He was pale and had tears in his eyes. I quickly sat up on my knees, holding each side of his face. "What'swrong?" I asked and he choked on his sob before looking at me. 

"He told me, he told me about him joining Umbridge. But I didn't believe him. I thought he was joking." He cried and I looked at him in shock, pulling him quickly into a hug. "Something's changed inside of him, Eurydice." He said and I nodded, holding him close to me. We spent the rest of the night discussing and studying, we tried to get our mind of Helios and focus on what we had to be doing tomorrow. I wrote a letter to Lupin, informing him of what had happened. George's owl took it and flew off. I looked at my friend who was now curled up on the sofa, the sun rising which lit up the room. I sat back down on the sofa and took a deep breathe.
