I always hated the dark, I think it was because when I was younger, I used to have these horrible nightmares, ones I couldn't even imagine now and I used to wake up to the dark. The department of mysteries was a scary place, with long walkways and tall shelves. The only thing that lit up the place was our wands. I shivered as a cool chill ran down my spine, my mind automatically going to Draco. Part of me wishes he'd rebel, wishes he'd just drop the hardass routine and actually realise that his father is wrong. But the other part of me knew that would never happen.
"Harry." Hermione said quietly and I turned around, following Harry as we walked to our friends to see a masked person making their way down the isle towards us, Neville looked at me and I smiled at him in a comforting way.
"Where's Sirius?" Harry asked, his voice coming out a lot bolder than I would've thought.
"You know you really should know how to tell the difference between dreams..." he trailed off, pulling his wand out and waving it around his head, the mask disappearing in the air. I choke, staring at Lucius Malfoy, my stomach dropping as I thought of Draco. "And reality." He finished. His gaze lingered on me for a few moments, before he looked back at Harr. "You saw only what the dark lord wanted you to see. Now hand me the prophecy." George turned to look at me and I shook my head.
"If you do anything to us, I'll break it." Harry threatened and a deranged sounding laugh came from behind Lucius. I looked at Neville as his face dropped, knowing exactly who it was.
"He knows how to play, itty, bitty, baby. Potter." The woman spoke as she came out from the darkness and stood next to Lucius.
"Bellatrix Lestrange." Neville said and I turned to Ginny who looked at me nervously.
"Neville Longbottom is it? How'd mummy and daddy?" The witch questioned. George looked at me nervously.
"Better now that their going to be avenged." Nevile said and drew his wand pointing it at Bellatrix. Quickly we all raised our wand as Bellatrix did also. Lucius put his hands up to calm the tension, but I burned holes imaginary holes into his head.
"All we want is that prophecy." He bargained and I scoffed.
"Why did Voldemort need me to come and get this?" Harry questioned.
"You dare speak his name." Bellatrix whispered. "You filthy half-blood!" She yelled and Lucius kept his hands up.
"It's alright, he's just a curious lad, aren't you?" Lucius questioned. I looked to my side to see a hooded figure appear, making me turn with my wand out. "Prophecies can only be retrieved by those, about whom they are made." He explained as we all looked around at the masked people around us."Which is lukcy for you really, haven't you always wondered what was the reason for the connection between you and the dark lord. Why he was unable to kill you, when you were just an infant. DOn't you want to know the secret of your scar? All the answers are there, Potter. In your hand, all you have to do is give it to me. And I ca show you everything." He whispered and I swallowed harshly as Bellatrix looked me up and down, obviously knowing who I was or at least who my parents were.
"I've waited 14 years." Harry said and I looked at him over my shoulder. "I guess I can wait a bit longer. Now!" He yelled.
"Stupify!" We all cast our spells at the same time, sending the masked shadows flying back. Quickly we all rushed off, I stuck with Luna and Neville. Soon enough we'd managed to re-group with the others and get out of there before the whole place fell apart, we ran through the door, but fell out onto the air. Stopping just above the ground before being let down roughly.
"Department of mysteries, they got that bit right." Ron said brushing off his clothes. Harry, Luna and I stared up at the veil in the archway.
"The voices, can you tell what they're saying?" Harry asked and I shook my head.
"There aren't any voices Harry, let's get out of here." Hermione said looking around nervously but I couldn't stop staring at the archway.
"We can hear them too." Luna answered for me coming up inbetween Harry and I.
"Harry, its just an empty archway. Please Harry." Hermione pleaded, George grabbed my hand but before we could move, the sound of the door opening made Harry turn quickly.
"Get behind me!" He yelled, still holding the prophecy in his hands. We all held our wands up, but were quickly smothered in a black fog which flew over us aggressively. I held George's hand as tight as I could, but at some point, he slipped away from me. Before I could even blink, we were all standing around watching in the middle. A large man held his wand to my throat as he held me in place with his arm. Lucius laughed as he made his way up to Harry.
"Did you actually believe, or were you truly naive enough to think, that children stood a chance against us. I'll make this simple for you, Potter." Lucius said holding out his. I looked at George quickly who was fighting agasint the guy, tears fell down my cheeks as I wished I could get to him. "Give me the prophecy now, or watch your friends die." Lucius spoke and I shivered as Harry stared at the white-haired man. Harry looked around at us all and I shook my head when he got to me.
"Don't give it to him, Harry!" Neville yelled and Bellatrix silenced him before pressing her wand to his throat. Harry looked down at the prophecy in his hands before slowly handing it to Lucius. A bright light appeared behind Lucius and tears flooded down my cheeks as Siris made his way over to a shocked Lucius.
"Get away from my godson." He said before punching him in the face. Soon enought lights began appearing everywhere and we were free from the grip of the death eaters.
"Eurydice!" Sirius called and I looked at him, he chucked me my wand that I'd dropped and smiled at me with a nod. I smiled back at him and nodded before Remus got to me.
"Go!" He yelled and I nodded. When it was only down to Lucius, I stood up, watching as remus still fought off another Death eater, until finally, he got him. Sirius turned to Harry with a smile when he finally finished with Lucius and Harry was beaming at him. But then, a green flash spit through the air and my heart sunk.
"Avada Kedvra!"Bellatrix yelled as she cast the spell on her cousin. Sirius looked at Harry as he fell back into the veil, disappearing into the voices. I cried out as Tonks held me back, Remus tried his best to hold back Harry who sobbed, while Remus himself had to face the fact that his Best friend had just been murdered infront of him. Harry broke free from Remus and rn after Bellatrix, I broke free from Tonks and ran to Remus. He hugged me to him as we boh fell to the ground.
