Oscar stared at me from the bed, looking annoyed that I'd so much as moved. I rolled my eyes at the car and patted his head. It was could out so I made sure to wrap up warm, gloves, scarf jacket, everything to keep me warm. I even wore my jumper I got from Mr and Mrs Weasley for my birthday under my jacket, she knitted it in yellow for my house colours. My nerves ran high as I got ready for the day. Today's was Ron's game day and everyone was going to be there. I pulled on my hat and made my way down to the great hall where Ron was making his way out. I quickly ran over to him and pulled him I to a big hug. He stumbled back but hugged me tightly once he realised who it was.
"You've got this Ron, good luck!" I said and hit his helmet, I looked behind him at Harry and nodded my head. He smirked and nodded back to me before him and Ron made their way to get ready.
"He gave him Felix Felicis." Hermione whispered to me as we walked and I looked at her confused and shook my head.
"Harry? What? No, he'd never cheat." I said, he was either bluffing or trying to act like he'd given it to Ron so Ron would feel more empowered. We made our way up to the spectators view and I watched Ron in amazement.
"He's mental out there. Where's his burst of confidence came from?" George asked watching in amazement. He cringed when someone crashed into Helios but I took no notice as I watched Ron.
"He's bloody brilliant." I whispered as he played so immensely well. The whole of the stadium chanted his name, the whole place was electric and it didn't stop there. After winning the game, the party only continued into the night as everyone crammed into the Gryffindor common room.
"That's was amazing, I'd never seen anything like it." Seamus buzzed and I just chuckled. The whole room began to ooh, which made me turn around to see Ron locking lips with Lavender. I stared in shock as everyone cheered him on, the sheer confusion. George was locking lips in the corner with Helios also so they didn't take much notice to the scene in the middle of the room. I watched as Hermione made her way away from the crowd, Harry following after her. I decided to let them go.
I decided to made my way up to the astronomy tower, I felt like I needed a breather from the night. But when I got up there, Draco was already there. He was wearing a black turtleneck and dress trousers with fancy shoes, his usual go to look. I made my way up beside him, standing with him by the railings.
"You missed the game, it was pretty electric." I spoke, my voice was quiet. I was scared that if I was to loud I'd scare him.
"I don't see Weasle and Potter beating my house as electric quite frankly." He said and I just sighed and shook my head. He glanced at me for a second but I just kept staring out onto the view.
"I'm scared that what happened to Katie might happen to me. Katie's so nice, I can't imagine why anyone would want to do that to her. It just gives me anxiety knowing it could be anyone." I said and he stared at me as I spoke.
"You won't get hurt, Eurydice. I swear." He said and I looked at him slightly in shock. His voice was full of promise, but it was the most gentle he'd ever spoken.
"Draco, do you know something?" I asked him and he just looked away from me again. I stared at him, but didn't question him any further. Scared he'd get angry.
"You look nice." He complimented and I looked at him confused. I was wearing tight jeans and a hand knitted jumper. "But, I can smell the alcohol on your breath." He said and I looked at him in shock. I'd been drinking, but I didn't think anyone would notice. "Do you still have the bottle of fire whiskey tucked under your bed?" He asked me as he turned to me and I looked at him even more in shock, no one knew I had that.
"How do you-" I began to ask but he looked me in the eyes.
"Don't you think I notice it? I spent 6 years staring at you, 4 years sitting next to you. All those days that you 'woke up' happy were just a product of the bottle under your bed." He said and tears made their ways to my eyes. "I know you, Eurydice. As much as you don't want to admit it, I know you better than anyone at this school." He whispered and I shook my head.
"No, you're wrong. You're trying to get under my skin, turn me to the dark side. I'd won't happen, Draco." I said through gritted teeth and he looked at me almost offended.
"I don't want to turn you, I want to protect you. I want you to be the same dumb, naive Hufflepuff that you are. But I want to keep you safe, I can't do that if you're constantly hanging around, Potter." Every time he spoke Harry's name it was like poison on his tongue. I stared at him, his anger festered away quickly and was replaced with another cold look. I walked forward, gently reaching up to place my hand onto his face. He leaned further against my hand, the warmth of my palm against his cold cheek making his shiver.
"I wish Harry would've shook your hand in first year, I wish I'd had shook your hand in first year. Maybe if I did, everything would be different." I whispered and he opened his eyes, looking at me, shaking his head.
"This was always going to happen, I was chosen." He whispered and my heart sank.
