I stared at Harry as he told me what had happened in the shrieking shack. I'd spent the rest of that night curled up in my room, with Oscar in my arms. I had wondered where George was, but now I knew. He told me the story and I pictured it as best as I could, lupin coming in to save the day then teaming up with Sirius, who turned out to not be the bad guy and it was actually Ron's rat, who was actually Peter Pettigrew. It was all a lot. Sirius managed to escape on Buckbeak which is a lovely thought since they were both innocent. I hadn't told anyone about what I'd found out yet, only Draco and Helios know. Everyone on the quidditch pitch were just confused.
"I can't believe I missed this all." I laughed, the laugh was fake but no one noticed.
"Sirius spoke about you. He said your name, but didn't say anything else." Ron said and I swallowed harshly and shrugged.
"Maybe one of you had said my name or maybe Lupin had spoke about me." I shrugged, standing up from where we sat in the dining hall, it was basically empty so we were just sitting around. "Which reminds me, I have to go see him before he leaves," I said and very one nodded. I made my way to the defence against the dark arts class, not bothering knocking since the door was opening.
"I can't believe you have to leave," I said as I walked over to him as he packed his bags. He turned to me with a smile and nodded, I stared at his face.
"As much as I love teaching you kids, it's maybe not the best idea for me right now." He said and I nodded. "And don't worry, I've looked worse." He joked and I just smiled. He packed his things and we were silent until I spoke up.
"You knew, didn't you?" I asked him and he stopped what he was doing and nodded. He turned to me, sitting half on his desk.
"We used to be friends with your father, 4 Gryffindors were best friends with 1 Slytherin. It was strange back then. But he wasn't like the other Slytherins. We were there just after Helios was born and also you. But after your parents died, Harry's parents died around the same time. Then Sirius got sent off to prison it was a terrible time for us all." Lupin said and I nodded.
"I wish you'd told me that before," I said and he nodded, closing up his bags.
"I know you would, but you don't even know the half of it yet." He said and I looked at him confused. He grabbed his bag and turned to me, placing a hand on my shoulder and looking me in the eyes.
"Stay well, Eurydice." He said and I nodded. I watched as he left the classroom, a heavy feeling in my chest as I looked around his room. I sighed and made my way out of the classroom and back down to the great hall. Everyone was there now for lunch, but the real attraction was outside. I made my way out to the courtyard to see Harry on his brand new broom, which I could only guess was from his godfathers.
"Did you speak to him?" Helios asked coming up next to me. I looked at him confused and he nodded back towards the castle. "Lupin?" He asked again and I nodded.
"He said I didn't know the half of it, but I don't know what he meant," I said and Helios nodded.
"You won't, I don't even know it yet. How did you even find out in the first place?" He asked me and I nodded towards Draco who was looking up in annoyance at Potter.
"Draco. He knew before I even did. No doubt his parents would have told him." I said and Helios shrugged.
"What're we going to do?" His voice was low and I could tell he was being serious.
" I'll find somewhere, You're staying with Greg, we should be okay. Maybe when you're old enough, we can get an apartment together. Use the money we had that was left for us from Gringotts." He nodded and nudged my shoulder.
"I think we grew up to fast." He said and I nodded. He was right, we did grow up to fast. But Hogwarts gave us an opportunity to be kids again, even though we were going into adulthood from here, it still felt like we were kids. "Everything'll be okay, kid. You know that right?" He turned to me and I turned to him, nodding sadly.
"We always have been, that won't change," I said and he nodded. He pulled me into a hug and I hugged him back tightly. After a moment he pulled away and smiled at me before following his friends back into the castle. I felt Oscar brush up against my leg with a letter in his mouth which confused me slightly. I crouched down and took the letter from him, he sat next to me as I unfolded it to read it.
'Dear Eurydice,
I suspect you've heard from Harry about his and my interaction and I was saddened not to meet you at the same time. Remus probably told you of our friendship with your father, it seems like only days ago when you and Helios were just baby's. I do hope to see you in the futureS.B'
I smiled at the letter with tears in my eyes, rushing over to Ron and Hermione with Oscar following in pursuit. I held out the letter for them to read and Ron swore under his breath.
"That reminds me. Mum told me to give you this, it came in the mail this morning. Something about what Dumbledore had said to her." He said handing me a letter. Both Hermione and Ron peered over my shoulder as I opened the letter.
'My dear child
We do hope that you are well, even after all of this new news. Dumbledore wrote to us about your worry of going home and I want none of it, you'll come and stay at the bungalow until you're back on your feet again. You have been nothing but an angel in this family and we'd love to have you. Ginny would definitely enjoy the company and I'm sure Ron, Fred and George will be delighted.
All our love
Molly Weasley'"Looks like you'll be living with, Eurydice and Oscar full time now, Ronald," Hermione said and Ron just groaned, but he quickly smiled. I shook my head and punched his shoulder. Happy to have my friends. Harry came running up to us with a big smile on his face as I picked up Oscar. Everyone was content.
