Sakura wasn't sure what to do. She didn't know if she should talk to Kakashi, or Yamato, or both, or neither. She wasn't sure if this was gonna last for the rest of quarantine. Either way, she didn't have much time. It was the fourth day of quarantine. This needed to end, now. She looked over at Tsunade, attempting to beg for help with just her facial expression. Tsunade sighed and took her into a separate room for "testing". Kakashi was left alone with Yamato, and everyone else was gonna wait it out, and they knew that. They knew someone had to make a move, just anyone.
"Tenzo?" Kakashi walked forward cautiously, still keeping a few feet between them. But he didn't hear anything. He walked closer to find Tenzo huddled up with glassy eyes. He looked as if Kakashi fish-slapped him. "I'm so sorry. I took that dumb poem way out of context and teased you like that, and I shouldn't have. I'm sorry for laughing for so long and disturbing you and making you feel really dumb. I shouldn't have acted the way I did, Tenzo, and I'm really sorry. I really am." Kakashi looked down, watching Tenzo out of the corner of his eye. Tenzo opened his mouth as Kakashi moved away.
"Kakashi." Kakashi turned around to face him. "Kakashi, I think we're both overreacting. Kami, it was a poem about your butt," He chuckled and fell silent. "But when's the teasing gonna stop? When's it gonna dial down back to when you just occasionally whispered in my ear, and made funny jokes? When's it gonna go back to remaining between us?"
"I'm sorry, Tenzo. I promise I won't tease you like that again."
"That's not quite it, Senpai. When are you gonna stop embarrassing me? I mean, I'm proud to call you my Senpai, if that's what you think I'm trying to say. But Kakashi, aren't we supposed to be secret? How can we stay that way if you're making me blush every 5 seconds?"
"How long are we gonna keep it secret?"
"I don't know, Kakashi, but not right now. Not after I fish-slapped you in the face in front of a cheering crowd. We can't just..."
"Yeah. But Tenzo?"
"Yeah?" Kakashi smiled, moving next to Tenzo.
"I sure am gonna miss teasing you." Yamato pouted, trying not to smile.
"I bet you won't miss me slapping you. Which, by the way, I'm never doing again."
"Hm? Why?"
"Anyone would have to be out of their minds to slap you."
"Well, no one's ever done it before. I'm afraid you're the first, Tenzo."
"Ah, is that why everyone was cheering?"
"Yeah. They've all wanted to do it for a long time. Also, they hate me." Tenzo hugged Kakashi and stuffed his face into his chest. They fell back asleep together, on Tenzo's bed, even if it was morning and they had all just finished breakfast. Sakura came back as soon as they were knocked out, and their faithful visitors came at lunch.
"So, what? Are we just gonna wait for them to wake up?"
"Nah," Tsunade said. "They have to be waken up for their medicine. I'll wake the-" Sakura was already poking both of their chests (which was usually Sasuke's job) and Naruto was screaming at them.
"Stop touching me." Kakashi said rolling off the bed. Yamato jumped off and quickly took his medicine, then hopped, skipped, and diddly jumped or whatever to the window where everyone was waiting. Iruka wasn't here, gone with his students again. His senior was a difficult patient, everyone knew that, yet Tsunade continued to deal with him.
"Oi, Yamato, how'd it feel to slap Kakashi square in the face?"
"Good, I guess?" He smiled, rubbing the back of his head. "What's up?"
"Hey, are you good with Kakashi Sensei?"
"Oh, yeah. We fixed that this morning. Uh, Hayate, I had to borrow this, for..."
"I'm proud to own the famous book that was used to slap Kakashi."
"No one's ever slapped him like that before, you know."
"So I heard."
"Yeah, Yamato Taichou! Someone needed to step up to that pervy sensei!"
"I could slap you, too, right now, Naruto," He said with his scary face, making Naruto step back. Kakashi finally got up and came to the window.
"Hey guys," He said, groggily pulling up chairs. Tsunade brought the food inside the quarantine box while Sakura set the table. Kakashi and Yamato added the finishing touches to make it look pretty perfect. Too bad it was a meal for only three.
Sakura watched and ate as everyone kept stealing glances at Yamato sitting next to Kakashi. It was funny, how they thought it wasn't over. It was funny how their fights only really lasted a night. They ate a nice meal, but soon were left alone again. It was only the fourth day of quarantine, a lot more to go.
"Senseis, have you reported your relationship to Lady Tsunade?"
"What relationship?" This again.
"C'mon, Senseis, you have to report things like this."
"Things like what?" Sakura sighed and sat on her bed.
"When are you gonna tell us?"
"Tell you what?"
"That you're dating." Kakashi looked at Yamato who looked at him.
"We're not dating."
"Hey, Tenzo, aren't you bored?"
"Yeah."
"We're ninja, Tenzo. And we don't seem sick anymore..."
"No, Senpai. I know what you're thinking."
"Let's break out of here." Yamato sighed and shook his head.
"We're in here for a reason, and Tsunade-Sama would have our heads if we escaped. And we have guards."
"Oh, really?"
"She knows you hate hospitals." Yamato took out some cards in an attempt to distract Kakashi. But he failed, because Kakashi was already on the other side of the walls, running in only his mask and some pajama shorts. Yamato ended up on his tail.
"Sakura, where are Yamato and Kakashi?" Sakura laughed.
"They escaped." Tsunade sighed and scolded the guards for a bit. The search for Kakashi and Yamato began.
