Two Jonin and an Investigation

It wasn't my fault, Sakura started it.

"Hey, guys," Sakura said.

"What's up, Sakura?"

"Do you guys think..." She looked over at Yamato and Kakashi. "You guys think they're a thing?"

"Who, Kakashi Sensei and Yamato Taichou?"

"Yeah. I mean, they act kinda weird."

"I guess so, but Yamato Taichou is so scary, and Kakashi's really pervy."

"Well, I guess there's no other choice but to investigate."

"Investigate?"

"Hey, Tenzo, let's get something to eat."

"Where do you wanna eat?"

"Hm, Ichiraku seems nice, right now."

"Alright. But I'm not paying." They walked in and sat down, greeting Teuchi. They ordered the usual, pretending not to notice Team 7 spying on them. Kakashi took out a piece of paper and a pen, and wrote something on it and passed it to Yamato. They went back and forth, passing notes and confusing Team 7.

You can see Sakura, Sai, and Naruto up in the trees spying on us, right?

Yeah. What do you think they're up to?

I dunno. You think it's the mask?

I don't think so. Besides, they've done that before. Do you want me to get them?

Nah, let's let it play out.

"Oi! What are they writing?"

"I can't see! It's too far away!"

"We have to get closer!" Naruto made a shadow clone, and it transformed into a small rock.

"Good idea, Naruto." Naruto threw the rock lightly, and it landed in Kakashi's vest.

"I'm in his vest! I can't see what they're writing, though."

"And we can't try again or they'll find out we're here!" They decided to wait until the two jonin were finished, but they continued passing notes.

Well, we really only have 2 choices. We can act really suspicious and trick them, or catch them.

I'm up for a little fun. How should we trick them?

We have to try and figure out why they're following us, and we could probably just wait it out.

But we have to stick together, in the likelihood that their investigation only involves one of us.

Yeah. Also, I have to go grocery shopping. Do you mind if we take a detour?

Actually I need to get some stuff, too.

"You gotta be kidding me! Still passing notes?"

"They must be onto us, then."

"We don't know for sure."

"Why else would they pass notes?" They watched Kakashi and Yamato walk into the grocery store.

"Shopping together? That's new."

"Let's all shop together and see what they're up to." They jumped down from the trees and walked into the same store. Meanwhile, Kakashi and Yamato were studying vegetables and different types of bread.

"Organic produce is better for the bees, right? Because they're produced without pesticides and stuff."

"Yeah, but in the end, they have the same nutritional value, right? A plant is a plant."

"Yeah, so I just buy the normal stuff."

"Hey, what about milk and eggs? Like those grass fed cows and free range chickens."

"Last week, I heard they made a new study on organic milk. Turns out it's healthier."

"Ah, that's interesting. I don't know about the eggs, though."

"Ugh, all they're doing is arguing about which vegetables to buy!"

"Calm down, Sakura. Be patient."

"Yeah, maybe they shop like this every week. We haven't been spying for long."

"Alright."

"Maybe we should just ask them."

"No. That's too risky." They continued to watch them shop, boringly, until they got to the cashier."

"Hey, Tenzo, you think we should?"

"Yeah it's been too long, already."

"This is it!" Sakura said. "What are they going to do?" Kakashi sighed.

"You guys can come out, now."

"We knew you guys were spying on us since the beginning." Sakura, Naruto, and Sai appeared from behind an aisle.

"Sorry." They all said.

"Why were you spying? It's kinda rude, you know."

"Well, we-"

"No, Sai. We won't tell you why we were spying." Naruto nodded at Sakura. "Sorry to bother you guys, though. See you tomorrow."

"Well, I guess that's the end of it."

"Are you kidding? We're definitely not done. They've gotta be hiding something. No one shops with the same cart unless they're shopping for the same people."
