Sora was anxious, Yeosang held her hand. It was a sense of deja vu. There, in the doctor's office again, ready to complete their bond. Sora leaned her head on Yeosang's shoulder, trying to push down the fears that threatened to spill out of her throat and eyes. Yeosang noticed.
"It will be alright Sora. I promise." She wanted to believe him.
"I believe you." She was lying. They went into the office. The doctor stood up. Sora looked around the room, there were two beds in the middle, another doctor stood off to the side. The first one stepped forward.
"I'm Doctor Lee, I'll be watching over the process. Your soulmate bond is explosive when merging, so to be careful, we'll be strapping you to the beds. Are you ready." The two nodded in sync, Sora's heart beating faster and faster. 'You can do this.'
They lay there as the doctors fastened the straps, Yeosang never once let go of her hand. He looked over at Sora, gazing into her eyes and smiling. "You can do it," he mouthed. The doctor turned to them one last time.
"You know what you're doing?" They nodded. "Ready?" Another nod. "Ok." Sora closed her eyes. And the process started.
Sora let the golden light fill her mind, felt Yeosang's presence. His laughter filled her mind. "Are you sure?" She smiled.
"Of course." Another lie. She let out the breath she had been holding and released the walls of her mind, feeling the golden light spill over, filling her up. Yeosang's memories washed over her, his thoughts, she knew he was experiencing the same thing.
It was going fine then, Yeosang encountered a block. He frowned. He wasn't expecting that. He tried to maneuver around it, only to feel darkness spill over and spread. Sora vaguely heard Yeosang scream in pain, as the doctors tried to hold him down.
She didn't know what was happening. "Sora, Sora!" She heard him, not knowing if it was in her mind or outside. She felt her face become wet. She was crying. She was hurting him. 'Let go, just let go.' She did. She didn't know if the screaming was gone, in fact she couldn't hear anything. She was warm and cold all at once.
Then darkness, and Sora felt herself slip away.
