Sora threw her chopsticks at Jeonghan. "How dare you, I am a blessing, you can go die in a hole!" Joshua clapped a hand over his mouth, trying to keep from laughing.
"I said what I meant, you're a demon!"
"If I'm a demon, you're a jerk!"
"Aww little Sora, trying so hard to be tough, you can't win."
"Says the one who can barely lift a box."
"What?"
"You heard me! Weak!" Jeonghan gasped slightly in shock.
"How dare you!"
"How dare you!"
"Kids, I love you, but please. Calm down."
"Yeah, calm down. Sora, you're gonna be 19 soon and like, it's not right for you to act like a child."
"Shut up Jina." Joshua by now was on the floor laughing.
"Mom, stay out of this," Jeonghan said, waving his hand in her general direction.
"This is a Yoon sibling argument zone." Mrs. Yoon sat back in her chair, staring at her three children in disbelief.
"Wow. I've got a 95 liner son who is in a boyband, a 97 liner daughter who doesn't do her chores and a 99 liner daughter who is a disrespectful gamer. Just my luck!" She threw her hands up. "I'm going to clean up."
Sora looked down at the floor. "Hannie, I think Joshua is having a heart attack." Jeonghan glanced at him.
"Nah he's fine." Joshua stopped laughing and glared at Jeonghan.
"How dare you, I thought we were friends!"
Sora sat on her bed that night, typing up the last few pages of her essay. Her soulmate was oddly quiet, she thought about reaching out to him, but decided against it. He'd only annoy her. She sighed as the looked at the calender. Only two weeks until her birthday. September 1st.
"Your birthday is the day that school starts at Hogwarts," she remembered one of her schoolmates as saying. "That's so cool!" She laughed lightly. Here, on this day, August 14th, 2018, she was free. And there was no questioning it, she loved her freedom.
Sora didn't here from her soulmate until her birthday, she was sitting on the roof when the golden light filled her mind. "Happy birthday soulmate!" The sound of his deep voice made her roll her eyes.
"I knew you being MIA was too good to be true."
"I try to be nice and this is what I get? Hey, can I return my soulmate?"
"Nope, you are stuck with me."
"Oh dear." Sora was silent for a while, then.
"Thanks."
"What?"
"Thanks. For remembering."
"Uh, you're welcome? Ahem." He coughed. "Almost lost my cool and collected facade." Sora snickered.
"What? You were never cool." He gave a large exaggerated gasp.
"I was always cool!" Then he turned around. Sora frowned.
"What?"
"I have to go. It was nice talking to you soulmate. Bye!" His silhouette faded. Sora sighed.
"I can't believe that I'm stuck with you. Maybe in another time, I would have been happy. But now? I know it won't work."
