Last Christmas we ran another classic story-prompt challenge for you all. As promised, we've collected all entries in this very part. Welcome to Super-Extra Superhuman Stories!
The first one comes from CynkNapp:
It is New Years Eve. Everyone is out celebrating. Almost everyone. Blind Justice stood in that alley called Devil's Hold. This was where the accident happened on that day. Holding the strange device, and thinking about what a strange letter said. A lawyer, a super heroine, and a charity soup kitchen owner. She got a strange letter written in Braille.
She knew a simple press of the button would remove the street (and all the history that happen in it). But in short, it was something to erase a thing. To make it like it was never there.
Blind Justice smashed the device in her hand. Let out a breath and listened. She found no sound of crimes, which was rare. A fresh new year was starting. Making or changing your destiny always requires work. Not something to be had at the click of a button.
MadMikeMarsbergen submitted one as well:
Duck-Dude stepped out of the pond, water and mud slopping off his sleek feathered frame and hitting the grass beneath his webbed feet.
It was New Year's Eve, and the countdown was nearly upon them. He'd been sleeping there in the muck, under the overhanging leaves of a sequoia tree, watching, waiting for his moment to strike.
Two bad-looking dudes with painted toenails and their G-strings showing appeared in the park as if on cue. Duke-Dude had overheard them going on about robbing some lovers at the stroke of midnight.
Two lovers had gone strolling past not three minutes ago. The two punks headed that way now. Duck-Dude followed, trying not to quack.
"Hey, guys, don't hurt us," said Lover 1, sitting on a bench with Lover 2.
"Give us your money and your luck with the ladies," said one of the punks.
"Quack-quack," quacked Duck-Dude from behind, and as the fireworks went off he gave the two punks a life lesson they wouldn't soon forget.
