"Where are you, you little bastard!"
I laugh at Seokjin's comment. Currently, he is draped across the back of my couch, looking behind it, and I am going through my kitchen cabinets. "Any luck?" I ask.
He straightens and sits properly on the sofa. "Nope. Nothing." Standing, he puts his hands on his hips. "I swear, he's worse than Odeng!" He looks at me. "I'm sorry to put you through this."
"Please, no worries. Anything to help out a friend." I shrug. "I'm sure we'll find him soon, Seokjin."
"You said that fifteen minutes ago."
"And I'll keep saying it until he's found."
Seokjin chuckles; I smile at that. "Thanks. Oh, and please, call me Jin."
I nod. "If you insist." We both make eye contact until it's awkward. At the same time, we turn away and pretend to look in something for the missing glider. "So, because it seems like we have some time, tell me some things about yourself, Namjoon."
I open the fridge and search the shelves. (You never know.) "What would you like to know?"
"Anything that comes to mind."
"Well, I'm a college professor."
He turns back to me and raises an eyebrow. "Really? What do you teach?"
"Oh, just quantum physics and organic chemistry." I move a Tupperware of leftover lasagna; no signs of Eomuk.
He scoffs and responds sarcastically, "Oh, is that all?"
"I just have an ability to understand complicated ideas easily, is all."
"You make it sound like it's no big deal." He gets on his knees to peek under my chair.
"I got lucky. What do you do?"
"I'm definitely not a professor, I'll tell you that much. I don't even know what quantum means." We share a laugh. "Yeah, no, I just do a little photography."
As I open a kitchen drawer, I knit my eyebrows together. "You're a photographer?"
He chuckles. "Ha, no, I'm in the pictures."
I freeze, my hand on the lid of a jar on my counter. I spin around to stare at him, and he gives me a caught-off-guard look. "Are you implying that you're a model?"
He shrugs. "Kind of." He lifts a blanket on the floor and sighs.
"Kind of?"
"Yeah, I guess." He gets to his feet saying, "It's not like I walk down a catwalk wearing the newest Gucci collection. I just do some shoots here and there."
"Gucci is really missing out."
His eyes widen at my line; I flush red. "Um...I mean, you're just so good-looking...I-I mean, not good-looking. You're not bad-looking though! I just... meant that...um-you see, I-"
Jin bursts out laughing. "Namjoon, please stop," he begs between laughs. "You are too cute."
Geez, that's embarrassing. I point my gaze to the floor and rub the nape of my neck. "I'm sorry I made it awkward."
"Oh my god."
"I know, I know. I didn't mean to-"
"No, Namjoon." I look up to see him point behind me.
