It all happened in the blink of an eye.

A hand tightens around my wrist. I look down, relief sweeping over me. I didn't know if he was going to ever wake up again. "Namjoon..."

He smiles. His face is covered in blood and scratches, and he is in a lot of agony, but he's smiling. "It's okay, Jin. I'm fine."

Tears gather in my eyes. Look at him, lying for me. I adjust myself so that his head rests on my lap, and I play with his hair and kiss his forehead. He whispers encouragements to me. While he's in pain, he's telling me everything is going to be okay. I still don't believe he's real.

"Joonie, I'm so scared..."

"I know, Jin." He holds my hand tighter. "I won't let anything happen to you."

That's what scares me the most. "I don't know where the others are." I chuckle sadly at a realization. "I barely know where we are."

"Hey, hey, please don't cry, baby."

"Shut up." More tears fall involuntarily. "You know that doesn't work. You're just making me cry harder."

I hear a loud crash. It makes me jump, and my heart beats wildly against my chest as steps echo throughout the dark room. The creak of the cage door opens. A silhouette stands in the doorway.

Namjoon stirs, and he sits up before I can warn or stop him. He keeps me behind him. "What do you want, you son of a bitch?"

"I'd choose your words wisely," the man snaps back. "I wonder if you truly realize how much danger your little group is in." He takes a few steps closer. Namjoon straightens, covering me as best he can. The stranger grabs the front of his shirt and yanks him forward before smacking him across the face.

Namjoon grunts as I gasp. He spits at the man, and I wince at the red now decorating the stranger's face mask. While he's distracted, I grab Namjoon and pull him back.

"You little-"

A sudden, distant scream cuts him off, and my blood goes cold.

"Is that...?" Namjoon starts.

I cry harder. "No...not Jimin..."

"You try something again, and I'll be sure to hurt all of your little friends." His eyes dart back to me for a split second. "I'll start with him."

At that, Namjoon growls at him. I think part of it is due to the fact that he is in major pain at the moment. Once the stranger leaves, he collapses against me. "Ah, shit."

I hug him from behind. "You're so stupid, Joon. Just keep your mouth shut for once." I cry into the back of his neck.

He chuckles. "No way. I'm not letting anything happen to you."

"I hope the others are alright. I don't know what I'll do if..." I stop short, choking up at the thought of losing it. "Namjoon, what if they're..."

"Don't think like that," he commands. "We're going to find them, and we're going to get out of here."

I shake my head. I know he doesn't believe his own words; I don't either. "Whatever you say."

We keep talking for another hour, whispering sweet nothings to each other, telling each other vain promises of how the future will turn out. He says how we'll get married some day and adopt a kid, and how there's no way in the fucking universe that we'll leave our children alone with any of the maknae line. It breaks my heart to think it'll never come true.

I don't even realize the stranger had returned until Namjoon covers me again. He pushes me against the wall. The stranger says, "I need your little boyfriend."
