"Do you see it?"
"No. Not yet." My eyes scanned over the shelf for the third time. "Where the hell is it?"
"I don't know. The website said it had one more copy."
"Jimin, I must have this book." I searched a fourth time.
The blond rounded the corner. He walked up to me, looking over the books as he did. He turned quickly to me, making his one dangling earring shake from side to side. "Don't worry, Namjoon-hyung."
"I am going to worry." I moved on to the other side of the aisle. "This is the third bookstore we've been to, and we've already been to five libraries."
The shorter man crossed his arms. "I just don't see why you need it so much."
My finger paused on the spine of a book as I snapped my head in his direction. I slowly lowered my hand, my hard gaze never faltering. "Jimin, this is the fifth AND final book in the author's only series. In the previous four, the main characters' lives have been pure mystery. The author said that all questions will be answered and all secrets will be revealed in this final book." As I spoke, I closed the space between us. I grabbed his shirt and yanked him up so that he stood on his toes. "I. Need. That. Book!"
His eyes were wide by this point. "Okay, Hyung..."
"Now please help me find it." I released him. I focused completely on the books, looking impatiently and grunting furiously.
It was clear that it wasn't in this aisle, so I moved on to the next. I mumbled to myself as I searched, "Come on, come on." I was getting extremely angry to the point of knocking over the entire shelf. That or it may happen by unintentional means, those means being my clumsiness.
A specific dark blue book spine caught my eye. The large silver letters covered the length of the spine in a beautiful calligraphy, spelling out the title of the fifth book.
"Oh my god! I found it!"
Then, just as suddenly as my ecstasy had surfaced, it disappeared at the sight of the book being pulled from the other side.
"Hey!" I grabbed the book binding.
The person tugged again. "Excuse me, sir. I just wanted to-"
"I saw it first!" I blurted. I know it was harsh, but I was currently passed the point of caring. I tried to pull it from their grip, but to no avail.
"You don't have to be so rude about it." They pulled, but there was no way in hell I'm letting this book get away.
"Let go!"
"You let go!"
I grabbed it with both hands, as did he, and we both pulled. Then, the book slipped from the stranger's grasp, and I yanked it towards me. The force of the binding hitting my face was enough to draw blood. I dropped the book and both hands flew to my nose. "AH SHIT!"
"Namjoon-hyung!" Two small hands grabbed my upper arm. "What happened?! Why are you bleeding?!"
"Oh my god. I swear I didn't mean for this to happen." Another joined us, and I squinted at the newcomer. He was definitely the stranger from the other aisle; I could tell by the sound of his voice. His hair was swept to the side as he looked at me through dark strands with concerned eyes. His long fingers curled around my wrists, and I jerked away. He was handsome, I'll give him that, but that doesn't justify our little episode. "I had the book first." My sentence came out muffled by my hands.
His soft gaze hardened a little. "Look, I'm sorry, but you don't have to be a jerk about it. Just let me help." He raised his hands to touch me again.
