"Class, we have a new student joining us today."

Great. Another poor soul trapped in this hell.

My condolences to the newbie.

I flinched as a paper airplane hit the back of my head. I turned around to glare at the culprit, who just flashed an innocent yet fake box smile.

"Taehyung, cut it out. Leave Namjoon alone," Yoongi complained.

"Hyung, I'm just having fun."

"No, you're being annoying."

"Yoongi-hyung, it's alright. No harm done." Leave it to Jimin to calm Yoongi down.

"Whatever. Jungkook control your boyfriend."

"For the last time, he's not my boyfriend!"

Taehyung's jaw dropped. "What? I'm not?"

"No!" Jungkook responded, as if it was obvious.

Hoseok butted in. "Guys, stop. Unless you want detention again."

"Bring it on," Jungkook challenged.

"No," I told him. I turned my focus back to the front of the classroom. By the time our quarrel ended, the new kid had entered.

I've never admitted to myself that a guy was hot. I've stated that a guy wasn't ugly, but never hot.

That changed today.

The first thing I noticed was his shoulder line. I mean, it's kind of hard to miss. His shoulders are extremely broad, and it's pretty attractive. Next, I was drawn to his angular features, and then I lost myself in his dark eyes. His hair looked absolutely perfect, as if professionals had done it. He wore an actually cool and planned out outfit, unlike most students who just find the first shirt they see and put it on. He seemed to be shorter than me, not by much, but I couldn't tell whether he was younger or older. It was always hard to tell since I looked way older than I actually am.

"Class, this is Kim Seokjin."

At that, the new kid bowed. "Hello."

"Please make him feel welcome. Seokjin, there's a seat in the back for you."

"Thank you," he said, bowing to the teacher and quickly taking his seat.

"Hey, check out the new guy," Hoseok whispered.

"He's kinda cute," Taehyung added.

The class continued on, but my mind was somewhere else. Although I had literally just laid eyes on him, he wouldn't leave my head. What the hell is wrong with you? The only thing you know about him is his name.

The class soon ended. I quickly gathered up my supplies and followed my friends out the door. I made it about halfway down the hallway, but froze when I heard a thump behind me. At the sound I turned around to see the newbie on the floor, papers and books scattered around him, and three other students laughing as they stepped past him, ignoring him completely. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the ones who tripped him.

He began to gather up his things one by one. "Hey, Namjoon! Are you coming?!" Yoongi called out.

Without facing him, I responded, "I'll catch up with you guys later."

I didn't bother to check if they left or not. I just focused on the guy on the floor. When I stood directly in front of him, he froze as he reached for a notebook next to my shoe. He retracted his hand.

He must be shy. I knelt down and handed him the black notebook. "Here."

He glanced from the notebook to me and back again. He took it graciously. "Thank you, um..."

"Namjoon. You're Seokjin, right?"

He nodded. "Yes." A small smirk appeared on his face. "Do you mind if I ask you a few things? I know absolutely nothing about this school."

"Sure." I stood up. "Do you have your schedule?"

He rummaged through the papers in a folder he held. Once he found what he was looking for, he handed it over to me. I scanned it over. "Well, Seokjin, it's your lucky day. We seem to have the exact same classes." I gave it back. "Just follow me, Seokjin, and you'll be fine."

He smiled, and I think I felt my face heat up. "I can't thank you enough, Namjoon. And by the way, you can call me Jin. I prefer my nickname."

I returned his smile. "You're welcome...

...Jin."
