convert (a text written in code, or a coded signal) into normal language

It was cold and dark. That was all I could recognize from the blurry vision that had taken over my eyes. I flinched as the cold air of the room hit against my cut skin, the wounds inflicted upon it still open to the elements of the musty cell that I had been placed into. The sound of my voice echoed as I whimpered at the sound of feet coming toward my cell, the memory of the last few hours of torture still fresh in my mind as I replayed the feeling of drowning in my mind.

I remembered her eyes. Those eyes were one of the only things that had made it a point to become ingrained in my memory vividly from each session of grueling punishment. Her eyes continuously looking at me kindly as I felt various amounts of pain wash over my senses. Her voice always speaking so softly toward me as though she really did care about my well being.

As the steps got closer, I huddled into my corner more, scared of the inevitable. Finally, the door opened and the sound of boots echoed within the room as they approached me hurriedly. I had given up on fighting ever since they had threatened Luke's life if I refused to cooperate, the thought of losing him too painful to bear. The feeling of chains being secured around my wrists had begun to feel normal due to their overuse in my time down in this hell hole.

As the guards walked me toward the room I was all too familiar with, not a word was spoken, everyone being too scared to speak to me due to my wrath on the soldiers within my first week of being here. Little did they know, I had negligible fight left in me to fend off their attacks. When the door to the familiar room of torture opened, I was faced with the element that was to be used on me today: electricity.

The familiar sound of buzzing filled my ears as I was strapped into the chair that I had come to be well acquainted with in the past few months. Although I had yet to release any information about the colony to any of the guards or White Coats, they continued to induce trauma on me in hopes that I would crack under the pressure. However, they were not coming out empty handed in this deal, they were receiving data from all of my reactions: what made me angry, what my limits were, how pain affected me physically. As I had come to realize quickly from being there, the White Coats were using me as an experiment to reveal their own flaws.

And this cycle continued. I knew when I refused to leave the building that this would happen, I just never fully grasped the capacity of the physical and emotional pain I would have to endure. But I assumed that this was okay, that it was better myself than Luke as this is exactly what they were going to do to him and Cynthia had they been captured. The only difference was that the White Coats wouldn't receive as much data from Luke as they would me.

After all, I was their leader's daughter.

Release date: 5 May 2016

Can we take a moment to look back on how Harry Styles is releasing a single in a few days, Niall will probably come out with a solo album this year, 5SOS has not released new music and is constantly teasing us about it, and Halsey is teasing new music as well. And to top it all off, Ed Sheeran released an album that has sufficiently torn my heart apart. But it's all good.

Anyways, I couldn't wait any longer to post a teaser for you all, so here it is. Even though it isn't much, I was so excited just to give you an idea of how the storyline was forming and to get you all excited about the release.  I also was wondering how you all would feel about making social media for the book since many other fanfictions also do this and it may be a good way to keep you all updated on the releasing of chapters and such. Also, there will be a playlist posted by the middle of this month with many songs that I consider to be instrumental in 'The Code' trilogy if you would like to check it out.

As a warning, if you did not read 'The Code' before this, I encourage you to read it as this is the second book in 'The Code' trilogy. Also, please vote and comment to show support. I would like to take this time to warn all readers that there will be a few chapters featuring more sexual/graphic elements and harsh language than that featured in 'The Code.' Readers discretion is advised for any and all parts of this story.

All the ideas of this book are fully mine so I would appreciate the discretion of no copyright infringement of this work.

Lastly, as it was in 'The Code,' the expressed views of characters are not the same as the ones held by the actors playing the character. This book is not in any way affiliated with 5 Seconds of Summer or the actors cast in the roles. Please keep this in mind as you read the book.

See you on the fifth of May!
