Life goes on

Summertime

That warm sunny air that feels just right
Close your eyes and go right to sleep
Hear the waves crashing at your feet
That salty smell makes me right at home

The crab legs and shrimp are only for the beach
Going shopping for new clothes and getting discounts
Taking walks alongside the beach at night

The fireworks go off at 1 AM
But you got to catch them at the right time
Or you'll never see them 

Feeling the breezy air before a storm 
Seeing the lightning strike in the ocean 
Watching the storm behind a glass window
Feeling everything shake when the thunder comes

Writing your name in the sand
The same sand that will come back home with you
Even though you dread it, it's going to make you smile

Feeling sunkissed dancing around 
It's the happiest time of your life
The week feels like a blur when you get back home

Dancing around on the beach like no one is watching
It's the best feeling in the world 
Laughing only for a moment then taking a picture

I wish this week would last a little longer
Cause I miss dressing up just to go to the beach
Feeling the wind get caught up in my dress

Those elevator chats with people you'll never see again
Cause they are from all around the world
Sharing interesting stories till you get to the last floor
