Author's Note
IF YOU DON"T LIKE CLICHE OR HAPPY ENDINGS, THEN DON'T READ THIS!! IF YOU DO LIKE HAPPY ENDINGS, THEN READ THIS AND TELL ME HOW YOU LIKE THIS CHAPTER!! I feel like my book has gotten depressing and I want to throw in a happy chapter, which will only rarely happen! This is also not a story from my life. I want to think about turning this poem into a story because it is a narrative poem. If this chapter gets ten votes, then I will make the first two chapters! :)) The next chapter of my life will be back to normal! Okay, thanks for reading this! If you do read this chapter, they were friends before the became lovers which is why they were so close. I just wanted to start it from their teenage years.

Is it all cracked out like it's made to be?
One day, Cheyenne is running out the door
Into his arms, like she ain't just seen him yesterday
Jumping up into Rhett's truck ready to hit the road
Nowhere to go so they are just riding the back roads

He gets a call from his best friend
Next thing she knows she's jumping into his friend's truck
She gives him the biggest smile when he puts his hand on her leg
This is the happiest she's been in a long time
How did she manage to survive without him?

His team won their first football game of the season against their rivals
She runs into his arms right after the game ends
They both don't notice the fence between y'all
The excitement is in the air and everyone can feel it
They tease each other like there's no one around them

He invites her to meet his family
She starts feeling a little nervous
Cause up until this point it's just been them two
And a couple of friends here and there
But nothing makes her happier than him

He starts feeling a little insecure like something's not right
There's never been any pressure between the two
No social media pressure or going out a lot
They both understand that she wants to take it slow
That they need some time to figure out where this is going

He starts talking about he wants more in their relationship
But she loves every second of what they have been doing
She doesn't want the spontaneity to end after a month
He wants a label and she just wants to run wild and free
She doesn't want the pressure of a label

The feeling of her hair blowing in the wind
It's the world telling her to dare to breathe back
She isn't going to be tied down for long
Even though she loves the boy,
She just wants something with no labels

He wants a girl to parade around and show what is his
He just wants someone to show off
He doesn't want someone to travel the world with
He's never going to leave his hometown where all of his buddies are at
She needs someone to travel the world with her

They might be what they need for a little while
He breathes a little home into her runaway heart
She realizes she wants someone to be at home for her
She breathes a little adventure into his homegrown soul
They both took each other out of their comfort zone

He wants a wrap-around porch farmhouse
She wants to travel and then settle down
He wants a kid by the time he's twenty
She doesn't want commitment right now
He wants someone to cook his food after work

They are total opposites of each other
They burn the town down while they were in love
They made it work, yet it wasn't in their cards
Fates got a funny way of keeping score
Who knows what will ever happen?

Their love never dies even though they went on separate paths
He still has a hold on her and even though she wants him back
Things will never work out for them
They don't want the same things as their end destination
She can't sacrifice her dream because she'll regret it in the end for a boy

He wants two rocking chairs holding hands with the love of his life
She wants to figure out who she is
He wants to work hard and start a family of his own
She wants to go out and discover the world
He wants a high school sweetheart

The love between the two of them is stronger than their excuses
They have the best times of their lives together
Shame they couldn't make sacrifices and make their love work
Her mama prays for the two of them to work
His mama kept in touch with her because she loved her like her own daughter

They run into each other ten years from now at the grocery store
She came back because she's wanting something more
He talks her into an ice cream cone at the old diner
She agrees to it just because she's curious where he ended up
It's just like old times for the both of them

He sees the world in her eyes and she sees home in his
They both give each other something that no one else has been able to give
He tried giving his love to someone else after she went out to explore
It just didn't work out and he tried to save it for his kids
In the end, he's got two great kids and the love of his life came back

She has slept in plenty of hotel beds and now she's ready for a home
His eyes haunted her at night right when she went to lay down
She wants a wrap-around porch farmhouse and two rocking chairs
It's been past time for her to settle down and have one of her own
Their ice cream diner might be of the past but it starts their future

The guy behind the counter never forgot their love
Even though it had ended, he knew she would come running back
The whole town knew they would never be happy with anyone else
Everything had gotten older, but it was like they were reliving their past
Nothing had changed between them, but it was just that they had gotten older

It is a short week later when the rumor mill starts spinning
Everyone knew they had been seeing each other again
They went to all of their favorite spots when they were younger
Caught up with each other on everything they missed
But little did she know he had a surprise for her

She met his adorable little kids that looked so much like him
He saw all of her souvenirs and her face lit up while telling each story
They spent hours telling each other what happened while they weren't together
He would slip in a little memory every now and then just to make her smile
They reminisce about all the times that if his truck could tell they would've been in trouble

She takes him to her favorite spot in the country
That's where he decides to get down on one knee
She never saw it coming and starts crying happy tears
Her life finally came together as she promises him forever
They knew they couldn't fall in love with anyone else

She was happy she decided to come back home
He was finally able to fulfill his dream with his dream girl
The town all shows up to their wedding day
They had been there for it all
Mr. Jonny, the ice cream diner owner, officiates their wedding

They went on their honeymoon and came back with nothing but smiles
They are a little sad it had ended but knew they had forever together
Two little heartbeats show up about a year later
Rhett would have done anything for his girls
Cheyenne knew that in a couple of years Rhett would be fending off the boys

The neighbors think that those kids grow every single time they see them
Cheyenne swore off to blinking she didn't want to miss a single second
Rhett has that sparkle in his eyes and says, "I'm not crying."
Their family is starting to blossom before their very eyes
Rhett's two kids plus their two kids mean his farmhouse is starting to fill up

Their mothers are standing together looking at them as if they are still kids
They remember the day when Rhett and Cheyenne broke up
It had been heartbreaking for both of them because it was like they had lost their kids
They had both dealt with two heartbroken kids and now they have a family
They both start crying at the two mature adults standing before them

Ten years later, Rhett and Cheyenne sit in their rocking chairs
They are watching Dakota, Harper, Bailey, and Ivy play in their old spot
The handprints in their sidewalk remind them of how little they once were
Rhett and Cheyenne completed their every dream together
They live a happy life and eventually grew old together
