"LITTLE WOLF, COME OUT

Come out, come out wherever you are~" His words sent chills down my spine. I clung my knees to my chest with my tiny arms, curled into the vent just above my containment unit.

"Fen don't pay me enough for this hide-and-seek bullshit." He spat.

I tried running from them. My first and only plan ended up failing miserably. Kenai was waiting for me, and I foolishly went back for my stuffed bear.

I hated my life with these sick people. Every day, they'd lock me In the cellar, and at night, I would retire here. but what for? Just to fight in more confinements?

If i refused; with the touch of a button, they could electrocute me with the collar clasped around my neck. The majority of the time I just wanted to run. Kenai had gave me that chance, and like an idiot; I let it shoot right past me.

No matter what, my thoughts always seemed to trail back to the abandonment of my mother.

Why did she leave me with that man? An evil human that ended up selling me, just to make a quick buck off these evil scientists. At least that's what Kenai always called them.

His cackle grew louder. The lump in my throat wouldn't go away. My hitching breathes echoed back at me. My nerves were shot.

"I know you're here, I can f-feel
y-you." His voice came out weird and glitchy again. That always seemed to happen around here. Oddly enough, it's how I found myself being able to sense when Fen was nearby.

I kept my face burried in my knees, and my tail curled around my body. The anticipation of him drawing near sent me into extreme panic. I couldn't cry, or scream. it would surely echo, and give away my hiding spot. I was almost petrified, because all I could see was the billowing shadow of him dancing in the distance.

There was a long period of silence.
Assuming I was safe, eventually I let out a shakey breath of relief, resting my head back against the wall of my vent.

I should've known he was still there. It wasn't long before scalding hot flames started closing in on me. Lashing at my fur. I let out a shrill, blood-curdling scream that reverberated against the vent walls.

"NOOOOO--!!!"

Not entirely aware of my surroundings, I rushed to my feet as soon as my eyes fluttered open. Before the recovery girl had a chance to calm me down I instinctively bolted out of the office. As I ran, a sense of dejavu settled over me, running on all fours. I skid to my feet--to gain more speed.

I didn't really know where I was, I couldn't recognise my surroundings. My lungs were sore, it could've been from the lack of nicotine but I wasn't so sure. The sound of my feet slapping against the cold tiled floor eas all I could hear. The world around me was in black in white--frozen--I was the only one moving, the only one breathing.
