MY PAWS POUND AGAINST THE
Surface of the earth. The voices of the humans mingling amongst each other seemed to drown out all reason. The voices in my head were mind-numbing. I ran solely off instinct. For some reason I just couldn't stop myself.

I shouldn't of passed The noises around me as simple human chattering. The blur of Midnight black ahead of me; the scent of something so vile seemed to cancel out my surroundings.

It's a cat

It's a cat

It's a cat

It's a cat

Don't stop

Tear it apart

This vile tresspasser

It's a cat

A cat?

A cat!

I will kill it

It's a cat

It's a cat

IT'S A CAT

I've Suprisingly had horrific experiences with felines. Bobcats would pick on cubs in the wild. Alleycats would pick on Kenai, as he'd rummage about dumpster after dumpster searching for Food; Just for me.

Of course the real question would have to be, 'What was a cat doing here?' But of course, I didn't care why it was here; nor how it got here in the first place. All I cared about was Either tearing this demon to shreds, or running it Off; The shortcut To town was somewhere around here. If I could figure out how to steer the damned thing that way, maybe that'd be easier.

But it felt like the cat was the one leading me Off. Luring me towards something. But what??

I found myself Tripping over something; collapsing to the ground, rolling over the asfalt with a thud.
I shook my fur, making eye contact with a child.

Her eyes were Strawberry pink, but her skin smelt of Charcoal, and burnt plastic. Her hair was almost snow white; yet held a tint of lavender, that looked harshly similar to the wysteria that grows along the countryside. there was a subtle horn Amongst the corner of her Forehead.

I tilted my head, and she scoots away from me; eventually meeting a dead end. She pressed her back against a small trash can, flinching away from me, masking her Features with her arm.

I nuzzle the tip of her cheek.
There were bandages all over the child's arms. I could Smell Death on each of them; blood crusted onto multiple areas.

Realising I wasn't going to hurt her, she wrapped her arms around my neck, and I help her to her feet. For a brief second they dangle over the ground, before I place her down on her feet.

My right ear twitched. I look to my right, Noticing the cat had scrambled onto the roof of a porta-potty. I let out A snarl, glancing back over to the girl.
