Izuku quickly settled into his new fast-paced schedule, keeping up easily with U.A's curriculum and enjoying the new challenges.
"Why do we have to have P.E?" Shinsou whined as he stretched on the floor "We're not in the friggin hero course. And stop flexing on everyone dammit!" this last part was directed at Midoriya, who was currently bent over backwards on all fours and grinning upside down at his friend
"I keep telling you to join gymnastics with Tsu-chan and me" he responded loftily as he fluidly pulled himself into a handstand "It's your own fault you're jealous of my flexibility"
"You've been taking gymnastics since you were what? Six?" Hitoshi gritted out, secretly envious and unwilling to admit it "It's not fair"
"Eight" Izuku clarified, now balanced on one hand
"Still not fair" he huffed
"Whoa! Can you do a flip Midoriya?!" Tetsip called out
"Yup!" he gave a strong push with his arm and fell on his feet gracefully "Back flip or front?!"
"Back!" Izuku did as was asked and landed elegantly on the training mats "Nice!"
"Show off" Shinsou muttered

"So how's your day been going Kacchan?" Izuku asked, setting down his lunch tray and pulling out some cards
"It be going better if you'd stop attracting so many goddamn extras to you" he grumbled back, gesturing to the full table, which was actually two tables pushed together in order to make room for all the 1-A and 1-C friends Izuku had. "One lunch. One lunch without it being an absolute shit show is all I fucking ask"
"You're just jealous that I'm better at the whole 'making friends' thing you grumpy puppy" he teased back
"The FUCK did you just call me??!"

Hatsume-san!" Midoriya called out, making his way to where his lab partner was "I have another idea-"
"MIDORIYA!" she exclaimed, with dark bags under her eyes and goggles on her head "I THINK I FOUND A WAY TO IMPROVE THOSE KNIVES OF YOURS!"
"Jesus Hatsume! When was the last time you slept?!" he cried. She waved him off and gestured to what she was working on
"Monday. But that's not important-"
"IT IS THURSDAY. GO TO SLEEP."
"But-"
"SLEEP. NOW. " He ordered "Or I'm calling sensei."
"Fiiiiiiinnnnneeeeee~" she groaned "But let me tell you first"
"Fine" he sighed and glanced over her shoulder at the blueprints "What are you doing with my gloves?"
"Okay, you know how you wanted those reinforced gloves right? I mean, those just require some simple sowing-"
"Simple for you" Izuku grumbled "I'm the one who has to actually do it"
"And finding the proper material for you isn't?" she retorted "Off topic but anyway, Sensei showed us how to make these electromagnetic plates that'll attract to each other from long distances."
"Okay? And?"
"What if you could put those in the knives and your gloves?" she asked excitedly "That way the knives can come back to you!" Izuku nodded in thought, a twinkle in his eye
