Bakugo came back into the apartment, smelling of burnt sugar and smoke and much more subdued than before.
"Okay. Well obviously we need to- Whoa" He froze at the living room entrance, his face a neutral mask of pure terror "Auntie? You okay?"
"Of course Katsuki dear" she cooed sweetly, still patting her son's hair and with a smile plastered on her face "Why wouldn't I be?" Izuku peeked up at his mother and went rigid
"Ma? Uh, you mind putting everything down?" he asked nervously
"Hmm? Oh, my bad" she laughed and the flurry of pens and paper floating around her head paused before dropping. Izuku pulled himself away slowly
"Are you okay ma?" he questioned worriedly.
"I'm perfectly fine" Inko reassured as she got up and dusted herself off. "Why don't you go get ready for dinner darling? I need to speak to Katsuki really quick."
"Okay?" Izuku murmured and went to wash up in the restroom. When he came back however, now much calmer, the apartment was empty. "Ma? Kacchan? Where'd you go?" he saw a note on the single bowl of rice on the table. With growing dread, he opened the hastily scrawled message.
Katsuki and I had to run a couple errands. We'll be back in a bit. Don't bother coming after us :)
IF COPS COME LOOKING FOR US YOU KNOW NOTHING GOT IT DEKU
"fUcK!" Izuku shrieked and grabbed his jacket, slipping it on as he hurriedly tried to put on his boots while running. He tossed on a scarf, beanie and took his satchel off the coat hooks by the door before skidding out the apartment, down the stairs and into the street. OH GOD I HAVE TO GO STOP A MURDER.
~~~
As Izuku shuffled over to the hallway restroom, Inko turned to the blonde boy with that wide, unsettling smile on her face like nothing was wrong. Katsuki shifted nervously, used to seeing that exact same grin on a livid Izuku right before someone got their ass beat, but never on Inko. It was honestly freaking him out.
"Katsuki?" Inko hummed
"Y-yes?" he yelped, standing up a little straighter.
"There's some food in the fridge. You and Izuku can help yourselves" she said and began gathering her things.
"Okay... and where are you gonna go?" he asked her.
"Why U.A. of course!" she said like it was the most obvious thing in the world "I'm going to have a little chat with the school board"
She says chat but something tells me she means a murder spree.
"I'll come with" he volunteered Mainly to make sure there's no traceable evidence.
"I can handle it Katsuki dear" she reassured and headed into the kitchen
"I didn't say you couldn't" Bakugo scoffed "But I have a piece of my mind to blast at 'em and if things go south," he shrugged "You might need some backup" Inko came back into the living room and stared at the teen suspiciously for a few moments before glancing down the hall where Izuku would appear in a few minutes.
"We'll have to be quick about it." She stated and Katsuki gave a wide, eager grin
"Let me get my coat"
After hastily scribbling out a note so Izuku wouldn't completely panic, the two set off quickly towards the train station, both wearing identical terrifying expressions on their faces.
~~~
Izuku bolted down the streets, pausing at an intersection to let his breath and thoughts catch up.
