"WELCOME TO U.A'S ANNUAL SPORTS FESTIVAL EVERYBODY!!!" Present Mic greeted the roaring crowds "THE ONLY TIME OF THE YEAR WHERE IT'S PERFECTLY LEGAL TO WATCH CHILDREN BEAT EACH OTHER TO A BLOODY PULP!!"
"Does anything you say go through a filter before you say it?" A gravelly and muffled voice responded over the speakers.
"NOT IN THE SLIGHTEST MY DUDE!!" He cackled back "JOINING ME FOR THIS BROADCAST IS MUMMY MAN HIMSELF!! BUT FOR NOW, LET'S JOIN OUR WONDERFUL STUDENTS DOWN ON THE FIELD!! TAKE IT AWAY MIDNIGHT!!!"
"Thank you Hizashi darling~" Midnight purred, blowing the booth a kiss before cracking her whip to catch the students attention "Alright listen up twerps!! It's time for the athlete's oath!!" The crowd of first years broke into excited murmurs
"Who do you think it is?" Atsushi asked Midoriya quietly, who shrugged in response
"Pipe down!" she yelled, cracking her whip once more and silencing the kids "Your class representative is from class 1-A... BAKUGO KATSUKI!"
"WHAT??!" the crowd screeched back.
"Kacchan?!" Izuku yelped, already looking like he wanted to die
"Probably cause he placed first in the entrance exam" Mina pouted
"Yeah, the Hero Course entrance exam" Hanako huffed.
"This is either gonna go really badly or surprisingly well" Shinsou snickered as the blonde began making his way forward
Everyone watched with baited breaths as the boy shuffled up the mini stage, hands shoved rudely in his pockets.
"The athlete's oath..." he began, before making eye contact with Izuku and flashing an evil grin
"Oh no."
"Make no mistake. I'm gonna take first place and win." He announced straight at Midoriya. Immediately the boy on stage was booed and hissed at. Those in 1-A having the unfortunate privilege of knowing the boy personally drooped in disappointment. His 1-C friends on the other hand-
"You suck at speeches!!" Shinsou booed, although laughing as he yelled it "Get off the stage you moron!!"
"How dare you disrespect the dignity of this event?!"
"Booo!!" Izuku yelled with the crowd "How many times have I told you to be nice?!!"
"You're dead you bastard!!"
"Don't get all cocky 1-A!!"
"You're all gonna make great stepping stones" Bakugo shrugged, flicking off his aids as he made his way off stage to block out the offended yelling.
"Overconfident jerk wad" the silver boy from a few days ago muttered "I'll be the one to put him in his place" Izuku burst out laughing at that, earning him a glare from the boy "What?!" he snapped "Don't think I can do it?!"
"Oh you can try" Midoriya giggled "But I'm the one who's gonna take him down. That message was meant for me."
"You?" the boy puzzled "But aren't you in gen-"
"Alrighty!" Midnight announced, "Well after that, ahem, rousing speech, let's get the first event started! The first event is gonna be..." she pointed at the screen behind her where event names rotated too fast to read before finally stopping "AN OBSTACLE COURSE MAZE!!" she yelled. Immediately the arena filled with chatter "A race against time with all 11 classes of U.A!! You must get through the maze within 25 minutes, the first 42 to get past or whoever makes it before time runs out gets to move on!!" the gates to the arena began to open and the students crowded around, eager to begin "And of course, since our school preaches freedom in all things, so long as it's not too out of line or off the course, anything in this event is fair game!"
