You could tell he was exhausted as soon as he walked through the door. He didn't say a word to you, he just came and put his head on your lap on the couch.

He's been working hard lately to get new music finished. Not to mention interviews, photoshoots, and performances. His schedule has been packed and his lack of sleep is starting to catch up with him.

You lifted his shirt up a bit and started to rub his skin comfortingly. He hummed quietly and closed his eyes but immediately opened them again to look up at you. "Hard day?" He nodded his head and reached for the hand that wasn't rubbing his side and laced your fingers with his.

"You can go to sleep if you're tired, Ash. It's okay." You started to play with his hair the way he loves and his eyes started to droop, but with everything in him, he was trying to keep them open. His time with you has been limited lately and he's finally home before you're asleep and he wants to spend time with you.

You leaned down and pressed a few soft kisses to his head. Your lips trailed across his forehead and down to his nose. He let out a little giggle at the feeling of your lips touching his nose. "I don't have anything to do tomorrow. Can we spend it together?"

You nodded and watched his eyes light up for a split second before they drooped again and this time, he didn't even try to fight them. He brought your hand up to his lips and kissed it. You brushed your thumb over his knuckles and went back to playing with his hair.

"I love you, Ashton. Sleep well." He just nodded his head, he was too tired to say it back. But he didn't have to because you could feel the love he has for you as he held you close in his arms because, at the end of a long and hard day, you're all he could ever need to feel better.
