you kiss his neck

He looked like an angel lying next to you.

It was a cloudy morning, but you still woke up with a smile on your face. How could you not when your boyfriend was by your side again?

He was away from you for three months straight. The tour kept him busy and he's been sleeping since early last night. He was so exhausted that he could only promise you a better day today since your plans for a movie night had fallen through since he was so tired.

You didn't mind though. You were in no hurry to wake him. You had all the time in the world. Besides, the sight was one you were willing to soak in for as long as you possibly could.

He laid on his back with his pajama pants hanging low on his hips. His eyes were closed, eyelashes fluttering against his cheek. He'd take a deeper breath in every once in a while as he stirred and would tighten his arms around you. You loved how simple it all was. You wanted to live in this moment forever.

You put your face in his neck. The smell of his body wash overtook your senses. His skin was so soft and smelled so good. After him being gone for so long, you couldn't stop yourself from showing him a little love as your lips pressed against his neck.

He stirred slowly with a smile on his face. He kept his eyes closed but you knew he was awake, and yet, you couldn't bring yourself to stop. He deserved love and affection after all the stress and pressure he's been under.

"Good morning!" You said as you pulled away from his neck for what was originally only meant to be a few seconds. But as he sighed and pulled you down to lay against his chest, you knew it was gonna be a bit longer.

"It really is a good morning," he said cheekily as he opened his eyes. "I've missed waking up to you by my side." He said as he rubbed his hand up and down your back. "I feel the same way." You said and went to kiss his neck again, but he grabbed your chin gently in his hand and pressed his lips against yours.

"Sorry, I just couldn't help myself." He mumbled against your lips as he laid a few more kisses against them before pulling away. You dropped your forehead onto his, gazing into his beautiful eyes as they stared right back into yours.

"Don't be sorry. I've missed you so much. I missed morning like this and your kisses." You said before returning to kiss across his neck but instead, let your lips trail along his face too. He laughed and squirmed around underneath you as he was overcome with happiness.

"I'm so happy to be home." He said as you kissed him on his forehead. "I'm happy to have you home." You caressed his cheek, watching as his eyes fluttered closed and he slowly drifted off back to sleep.

And you couldn't help but do the same as you leaned your head back on his chest, feeling like everything was right in the world as he held you there in his arms.
