The house was dark and quiet when Ashton arrived home. He'd only been gone for a few hours today and it was only late afternoon, so it was odd that you weren't downstairs and that the house was dead silent.

He remembered you saying that your throat felt scratchy this morning. But you seemed to be fine otherwise. If you weren't, he would've never left your side today.

He crept up the stairs and found you laying in bed on your side, sleeping away. He put his hand on your forehead and he felt that you were running a fever, your skin feverish and slightly sweaty. He noticed the wastebasket filled with tissues and the boxes on the table by your side of the bed.

He realized that you really were sick. After a small wave of guilt washed over him, he started to rub your arms until you slowly opened your eyes. "Hey, baby. Are you feeling alright? You're burning up." You shook your head weakly and closed your tired eyes again. "I feel really sick."

"Why didn't you call me?" He whispered.

"Didn't wanna bother you."

He let out a heavy sigh before kissing your head and going downstairs. He made you some soup and carried it upstairs to you, along with some tea with lemon and honey to soothe your throat. "Baby, you gotta wake up. I got you a couple of things to help you feel better."

You shook your head, trying to push away his hand with the spoonful of broth that would surely also help to soothe your throat. "You haven't eaten all day and this will help you feel a little better. C'mon, just a few bites."

You whined but gave in because you knew he wasn't gonna give up. After you ate a little and drank some of the warm broth, he had you sip on the warm tea then helped you lay back. He placed his hand against your forehead and winced when he heard your terrible cough.

You sat up, allowing for him to rub your back as you coughed hard into your elbow. "It's okay," he soothed, kissing the warm skin of your neck a few times until you finished and fell back on the bed. "I hate this." You whimpered. You felt so terrible, wishing you could just sleep until this would all go away.

"I know, honey. I'm sorry you don't feel good. But I'm gonna be right here, taking care of you until you feel better. I promise I won't go anywhere." You weakly nodded your head and felt him get up. He went into the bathroom to grab you a couple of things; a warm cloth for your forehead and some medicine to help with your cough and fever.

"You need to take this medicine."

"No." You pushed the capful of liquid away. "Y/n, come on. It's gonna help you feel better. You don't wanna be feeling like this all day, do you?"

And once again, you caved. He was so encouraging as you took it, and you could hardly even taste it from how stuffy you seemed to be. "Alright, go back to sleep now." He said, kissing your forehead before getting up to give you some space.

You caught his wrist before he could get too far though. "Don't go. Please stay with me." He couldn't resist. "Okay, I'm right here." He soothed as he lied beside you and wrapped his arm around your stomach.

You lightly coughed into your elbow. You felt a little relieved when he began to move his hand in soft circles over your back. "I'm right here if you need anything, okay? I love you so much and I'm gonna take great care of you till you feel better."

You felt so thankful to have someone who loved and cared for you so very much.

"Love you too, Ash," you whispered out, voice too sore and scratchy to speak anything above that.

Ashton smiled behind you, kissing the back of your neck as you quickly fell asleep in his arms.
